Palacios is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
He'll join fellow left-handed-hitters Josh Lowe, Brandon Lowe and Ben Rortvedt on the bench as the Rays stock up on extra right-handed bats with southpaw Patrick Corbin on the hill for Washington. Palacios has logged just 22 plate appearances against lefties all season.
