Rockies' Josh Rogers: Lands on IL with shoulder strain

The Rockies placed Rogers on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left rotator cuff strain.

Over his five major-league appearances this season, the 29-year-old southpaw registered a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 9.1 innings. With Rogers going on the IL and Angel Chivilli getting optioned to Double-A Hartford, the Rockies filled the open spots in the bullpen by activating Justin Lawrence (shoulder) and Jake Bird (elbow) from the IL.
