Massey is out of the lineup for Sunday's game agains the Guardians.
Massey will be joined on the bench by fellow left-handed hitters MJ Melendez and Kyle Isbel as the Guardians send southpaw Logan Allen to the hill. Vinnie Pasquantino will replace Massey as the Royals' designated hitter.
