Hughes was waived by the Stars on Saturday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Hughes scored 25 goals and 57 points in 69 regular-season contests with AHL Coachella Valley in 2023-24. The 27-year-old hasn't played in the NHL since 2020-21, and he's expected to begin this season in the minors if he clears waivers.

The Avalanche have put Tynan on waivers Saturday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Tynan last played at the NHL level during the 2021-22 campaign, partaking in two games without a point. He spent last season with AHL Ontario, picking up nine goals and 57 assists in 71 regular-season contests. He should be a key cog with the Colorado Eagles of the AHL.

Jones was placed on waivers by the Wild on Saturday.

Jones is expected to pass through waivers and be sent to AHL Iowa. The center had 21 goals, 22 assists and 59 PIM in 72 regular-season appearances with AHL Calgary in 2023-24.

Hayden was waived by the Kraken on Saturday.

Hayden had 15 goals, 26 points and 73 PIM in 65 regular-season contests with AHL Coachella Valley in 2023-24. He's a veteran of 249 career NHL regular-season games, recording 17 goals, 37 points and 290 PIM. The 29-year-old will probably spend most, if not all, of 2024-25 in the minors.

Hughes bagged two apples Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Sabres in the NHL Global Series Czechia.

Hughes' vision was on full display and few NHLers can match it. Plus he fired six shots, which means the snipes will come. Hughes is coming off a successful late-season shoulder surgery and looks primed for a Hart-worthy year.

White was recalled from AHL San Jose on Saturday.

White notched five goals and five assists in 21 games for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during the 2023-24 regular season. He didn't record a point in 17 NHL regular-season outings with Montreal last year. White will probably return to the minors after Saturday's preseason finale. He has an AHL-only deal with the Barracuda for the 2024-25 campaign.

Othmann was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Saturday.

Othmann made his NHL debut last season, playing in three regular-season games with nary a point. The 16th overall pick in 2021, Othmann had 21 goals and 28 assists in 67 regular-season games with AHL Hartford in 2023-24. He should get some time in the NHL this year as the Rangers regard him highly.

Lind was placed on waivers by the Stars on Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Lind had a big 2023-24 campaign in the AHL, generating 22 goals and 54 assists in 87 regular season and playoff action with Coachella Valley of the AHL. The winger also played a game with Seattle, but he didn't hit the scoresheet. Lind inked a two-way deal with Dallas in the offseason and is set to star with AHL Texas, should he pass through waivers.

Wagner was placed on waivers Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

The 33-year-old played 13 regular-season games with the Avalanche in 2023-24, scoring once and adding an assist. Wagner also saw action in 21 AHL games, finding the back of the net eight times, while adding six assists.

Marchand (illness) will return to the lineup Saturday in Washington, NESN reports.

Marchand left Tuesday's tilt versus the Flyers with the illness and sat out Thursday's game in Quebec City against the Kings. Marchand had 29 goals and 67 points in 82 regular-season contests in 2023-24. He has been on a downward slope as far as points-per-game are concerned, over the last four seasons and it could continue for the 36-year-old.

Benson missed Saturday's game against the Devils in Prague with a lower-body injury, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News.

Benson played through the injury Friday when he managed 17:23 of ice time including 4:32 on the power play. He was unable to go Saturday. The Sabres will face the Kings at home on Thursday. Consider the 19-year-old, who had 11 goals and 30 points in 71 regular-season games last season, day-to-day.

Peterka sustained a concussion in Saturday's 3-1 loss to New Jersey, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.

Peterka was injured in the first period following a hard hit from Devils defenseman Brenden Dillon. The 22-year-old Peterka left the contest and didn't return but will travel home to Buffalo with his teammates. If he is unavailable for a week due to concussion protocol, the talented forward could miss Thursday's home opener versus the Kings. Jordan Greenway or Jiri Kulich could replace Peterka on the top line.

Hirose (concussion) was reassigned to AHL Abbotsford on Saturday.

Hirose had been dealing with a concussion, but his demotion suggests he's been cleared to play. During the 2023-24 regular season, he had two assists in 33 outings with Abbotsford as well as no points, three hits and five blocks in three appearances with Vancouver.

Mackey hit the waiver wire Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Mackey played only one game for the Rangers in 2023-24, picking up a fighting major and three blocked shots. The 28-year-old spent most of the 2023-24 campaign at AHL Hartford, where he had two goals and nine points in 44 regular-season contests.

Kiersted was waived by Florida on Saturday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Kiersted collected four goals, 15 points and 53 PIM in 57 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. The 26-year-old defenseman didn't log any games at the NHL level last season and might spend all of the upcoming campaign in the minors as well.

Petrovic was put on waivers Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Petrovic collected five goals and 22 points in 70 regular-season contests with AHL Texas in 2023-24. He will likely spend most, if not all, of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.

The Stars put Capobianco on waivers Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Capobianco recorded 12 goals, 54 points and 46 PIM in 69 regular-season AHL contests with Manitoba in 2023-24. He's a veteran of 73 career regular-season NHL outings, but the 27-year-old didn't play at all at the top level last campaign.

Hunt was placed on waivers by the Wild on Saturday.

Over the course of the 2023-24 regular season, Hunt recorded three goals and 29 points in 51 contests with AHL Iowa as well as an assist in 12 appearances with Minnesota. The 22-year-old is expected to start the campaign in the AHL if he clears waivers, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him summoned to Minnesota at some point during 2024-25.

Soderblom is set to guard the home goal in Saturday's preseason game against St. Louis, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Although Chicago is technically the home team, the exhibition contest is taking place in Milwaukee. Soderblom had a 5-22-2 record, 3.92 GAA and .879 save percentage across 32 games with Chicago in 2023-24. Petr Mrazek will enter the 2024-25 campaign as the Blackhawks' starting goaltender while Soderblom is set to be the understudy.

Hellberg was placed on waivers Saturday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Hellberg played in 27 AHL regular-season contests between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Charlotte in 2023-24. In 26 career NHL appearances, he has an 8-8-1 record with a 3.08 GAA and an .890 save percentage. He will likely begin the 2024-25 campaign with AHL Texas, with Jake Oettinger and Casey DeSmith expected to start the year as Dallas' goaltenders.

Dansk was put on waivers Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Dansk provided a record of 11-12-3 with a 3.22 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 27 regular-season appearances with AHL Calgary in 2023-24. If the 30-year-old clears waivers and heads to AHL San Diego, Calle Clang could begin the 2024-25 campaign as Lukas Dostal's backup due to the absence of John Gibson (abdomen).

Allen made 17 saves in a 3-1 win over the Sabres on Saturday in the NHL Global Series Czechia.

Allen wasn't tested much Saturday - the shots were 37-18 in favor of the Devils. But he was strong when he needed to be. Allen has the skills to be a strong and busy back-up behind Jakob Markstrom and a playoff-bound Devils squad. He'll be an effective daily play who gets upward of 30 starts.

Levi made 34 saves in his season debut in Saturday's 3-1 loss to New Jersey in the NHL Global Series Czechia.

No, he didn't get the win, but Levi showed his skills on a world stage. And those skills are elite. Levi was one of the best players on the ice, and he was the reason the score only favored the Devils by two. His mates only mustered 18 shots on Jake Allen at the other end. Levi won't be the top dog in Buffalo this season or perhaps even next. But this young man is the future in the city of fires.

Husso will defend the road net Saturday in preseason action against Toronto, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com.

Husso stopped 43 shots in a 2-1 exhibition win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday. He will compete with Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon for playing time during the 2024-25 season.
