  The Dodgers placed Taylor on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left groin strain, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports. Taylor exited Wednesday's contest with left groin tightness after legging out a double in the seventh inning, and an MRI revealed a strain that will officially keep him sidelined for at least 10 days. Enrique Hernandez is set to start at third base for Thursday's series finale against the Giants and may continue to do so while Taylor is out. Meanwhile, James Outman will come up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the open roster spot.

  Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Wednesday's loss to San Francisco that he expects Taylor (groin) to go on the injured list, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Taylor hurt his groin while rounding first base on a double and exited with a trainer. Roberts later indicated that the team's level of concern is "sort of " high and that the utility man is likely to land on the injured list, though that won't be certain until he gets scans Thursday. Roberts also stated that if Taylor does need to go on the IL, James Outman would be recalled from the minors.

  Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Taylor will have more of a "runway" to play third base, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Third base has been a weakness for the Dodgers since Max Muncy landed on the injured list with an oblique injury May 17. The team made a trade in mid-June for Cavan Biggio, but he's struggled to a .188 batting average and 33.3 percent strikeout rate in 12 games with Los Angeles. Taylor had a disastrous start to the campaign -- he was hitting .095 with a 39.2 percent punchout rate over 36 contests through June 6 -- but has turned things around of late, slashing .385/.448/.731 with four extra-base hits (including two homers), four RBI, seven runs and two thefts over his past 11 games. He started at third base Sunday against San Francisco and collected a home run, a double and two RBI, and Roberts has indicated that Taylor will start at the hot corner again in the team's next game (Tuesday versus Arizona), per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. If Taylor keeps his momentum going, he could keep the primary third base job until Muncy returns to action, which likely won't happen until after the All-Star break. Biggio and Enrique Hernandez are the other options to log time at the hot corner for the time being.

  Both Taylor and Enrique Hernandez are expected to work as super-utility players for the Dodgers this season, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. When Los Angeles signed Teoscar Hernandez to play left field in January, it closed a door to Taylor nabbing an everyday corner-outfield role. The organization then signed Enrique Hernandez in late February, giving the team another player capable of playing all over the field. While that may cut down on Taylor's opportunities to some extent, manager Dave Roberts has historically found a way to give Taylor fairly regular work, though he did see a drop in his plate appearances to 384 -- his fewest over a full campaign since 2016 -- last season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect to see Taylor penciled into the lineup on an everyday basis, but he still offers some value in leagues with daily lineup changes due to his positional versatility and ability to notch homers and steals in the mid-teens.
