  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Struggles with command

Pallante allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out a batter in 4.1 innings Tuesday against Atlanta. He did not factor into the decision. Pallante was able to blank Atlanta through three innings despite allowing traffic on the bases in each frame. His good fortune ran out from there as he surrendered four runs while only recording four more outs in the game. Tuesday's outing was tied for Pallante's shortest of the year, and he's now allowed four runs in consecutive starts after allowing just four runs total over his first three starts combined. Pallante possesses a 4.05 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 16:10 K:BB in 26.2 innings. He lines up to make another start on the road next week against the Reds.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Knocked around in second inning

Pallante (2-1) took the loss Thursday against the Mets after allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out two. Each of Pallante's four runs allowed came during the second inning, when the Mets knocked him around with five hits. A whopping 12 of Pallante's 18 outs came on groundouts, so he was able to keep the New York bats in check to an extent. It was the first time through four starts this season that the right-hander surrendered more than two runs. Pallante will take a respectable 3.22 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB over 22.1 innings into his next scheduled start, which is tentatively set for next week in Atlanta.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Stymies Phillies in second win

Pallante (2-0) earned the win Friday against the Phillies, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four over seven scoreless innings. Pallante kept the Phillies off balance all throughout the outing, scattering two singles and inducing 11 groundouts despite the tough matchup. While the right-hander does have an uninspiring 13:7 K:BB through 16.1 innings in 2025, Pallante has been effective with a 2.20 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over his three starts. His next start lines up for the middle of next week at home against the Astros, which is a difficult assignment.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Yields two runs

Pallante did not factor in the decision during a loss to Boston in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings while striking out six. Pallante rolled through three shutout frames before David Hamilton put Boston on the board with an RBI single in the fourth inning. Rafael Devers followed that up with a solo shot in the fifth. Pallante threw 53 of 92 pitches for strikes and generated 12 whiffs. He owns a 3.86 ERA with a 9:5 K:BB through 9.1 innings. Pallante's next start is lined up to be a home matchup with the Phillies.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Saturday's start postponed

Pallante won't pitch against the Red Sox as scheduled Saturday, as the contest has been postponed due to inclement weather. Pallante was slated to take the mound for his second start of the season, but he'll have to wait another day to toe the rubber. Saturday's contest has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader Sunday, and Pallante is slated to start the first game of the twin bill, per Katie Woo of The Athletic.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Three scoreless, but velo down

Pallante permitted one hit and struck out a pair over three scoreless frames in Tuesday's Grapefruit League outing against the Mets. The bottom line was much improved from Pallante's first spring start when he allowed four runs and walked two in an inning of work. However, Pallante has yet to find the pep on his fastball this spring, with the velocity on his four-seamer down 1.7 mph from last year and the velocity on his sinker down 2.4 mph. It's not overly worrisome yet in early March, but it's something to keep an eye on.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Outduels Skenes in win

Pallante (7-8) got the win Monday against the Pirates, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings. Pallante was stellar on Monday as he shut down the Pirates over seven innings -- his second career start of seven or more shutout innings. Pallante also recorded a career-high nine strikeouts in the process. The 25-year-old has been a serviceable option for the Cardinals since being inserted into the rotation May 29. He's pitched to a 3.62 ERA in 99.1 innings as a starter this season.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Takes no-decision Wednesday

Pallante allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Wednesday. Pallante has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last four starts. In that span, he's given up seven runs (six earned) with a 17:10 K:BB across 25.1 innings. He's been effective as a starter this year, pitching to a 3.50 ERA over 82.1 innings across his 14 starts. Overall, he has a 3.80 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 68:35 K:BB through 92.1 innings. Steven Matz (back) may be an option for the Cardinals' rotation next week, but the team has considered moving to a six-man rotation in September, so Pallante may still be used as a starter to finish the campaign.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Sharp in sixth win

Pallante (6-6) picked up the win in Friday's 6-1 victory over the Twins, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out five. It looked like it might be a short night for Pallante when four of the first five Minnesota batters reached base in the second inning, but the right-hander put out the fire and then didn't let another runner get into scoring position, retiring the last 13 batters he faced. Pallante has a 3.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB through 35.1 innings since the All-Star break, but with Lance Lynn (knee) closing in on a return from the IL, his time in the rotation could be drawing to a close. If he gets another turn, Pallante lines up to face the Padres at home next week.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Goes seven innings in win

Pallante (5-6) picked up the win over the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings while striking out five. Pallante held his own against a talented Dodgers lineup despite allowing the leadoff man to reach in four of his seven innings of work. The right-hander surrendered one run in the first and another in the fifth on a solo shot from Shohei Ohtani, but he was able to hang on for his fifth win of the season and his first since June 28 against the Reds. Pallante has now allowed three or fewer runs in four of his last five starts, though he's also walked multiple batters in five straight. In the month of August he holds a 4.15 ERA to go along with an 11:8 K:BB.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Gives up five runs in loss

Pallante (4-6) took the loss Monday against the Mets, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two. Pallante worked in and out of trouble over the first four frames Monday, giving up only one run before running into a buzzsaw in the fifth that was capped by a three-run double by Tyrone Taylor. Pallante has pitched well since joining the rotation in late May, posting a 3.61 ERA over 52.1 frames covering 10 starts, but Monday's outing was his fourth start in that span in which he allowed four runs or more. He should get more opportunities to start as long as Lance Lynn remains out, but his days as a starter could end when Lynn returns to the fold.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Staying in rotation

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Wednesday that Pallante will remain in the rotation after Lance Lynn (knee) was placed on the 15-day injured list, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Pallante had appeared to be the most likely candidate to lose his rotation spot following the Cardinals' acquisition of Erick Fedde earlier in the week, but Lynn's knee injury gives Pallante a reprieve. The 25-year-old Pallante has pitched well since joining the rotation in late May, posting a 3.61 ERA and 43:18 K:BB over 52.1 frames covering 10 starts. He could still be a candidate to shift to the bullpen when Lynn returns, but for now, Pallante will continue getting regular turns in the St. Louis rotation.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Suffers fifth loss

Pallante (4-5) took the loss Monday against Texas, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five. The 25-year-old entered this outing on a roll, pitching to a 2.79 ERA across 19.1 innings in three July starts, but failed to reach the sixth for the first time this month. Pallante managed to limit the damage in this 92-pitch performance as he didn't allow a homer for the sixth time in 10 games started. However, his role in the St. Louis rotation is murky as the Cardinals acquired Erick Fedde on Monday, likely pushing Pallante into the bullpen as a middle reliever.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Notches second quality start

Pallante did not factor into the decision Monday against the Pirates, allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out three. Pallante was excellent in this one, firing six strong innings to earn his second quality start of the season. Unfortunately for the right-hander, the Cardinals mustered just one run in an eventual 2-1 loss. The 25-year-old started the season as a relief pitcher but has filled in admirably as a starter due to injury. In nine starts, Pallante has logged a 3.42 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 38:16 K:BB across 47.1 innings. He is currently lined up for a home start against the Rangers his next time out.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Take defeat in Game 1 of twin bill

Pallante (4-4) took the loss against Kansas City in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader, allowing four runs on six hits and no walks while striking out five batters over 6.1 innings. Pallante cruised through four scoreless, one-hit frames before the Royals struck for three runs on four hits in the fifth. The right-hander was allowed to return for the sixth but was pulled after giving up a tiebreaking solo homer to Salvador Perez with one out. Pallante was consequently stuck with the loss, as St. Louis was unable to catch up. Despite the defeat, Pallante recorded his second-longest outing of the campaign while recording exactly five punchouts for his fourth straight appearance.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Royals-Cardinals postponed Tuesday

Pallante and the Cardinals won't face the Royals on Tuesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather. The contest will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Wednesday. Pallante will be pushed back a day to start one of the two games of the twin bill and is no longer in line for a two-start week.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Falters versus Astros

Pallante (1-2) allowed six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one over three innings to take the loss versus the Astros on Tuesday. Pallante dazzled in his first start of the season with six scoreless innings versus the Reds, but the Astros were able to hit him harder. They put up a pair of runs on groundouts in the first inning before rallying for four more runs -- including a three-run blast by Yainer Diaz -- in the third. Pallante is now at a 6.16 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 11:11 K:BB over 19 innings across 11 appearances (two starts) this season. The Cardinals continue to struggle to fill the No. 5 spot in their rotation while Steven Matz (back) is out, though Pallante has perhaps been their best option so far. If he stays in the rotation, Pallante is projected to make his next start at home versus the Rockies.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Impresses in first start

Pallante (1-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Reds, allowing three hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six. Making his first big-league start since 2022, Pallante was sharp Wednesday, blanking Cincinnati over six innings in the winning effort. The 25-year-old right-hander has made nine appearances out of the bullpen in St. Louis this year, struggling to a 6.30 ERA over 10 innings, though he was solid in four starts with Triple-A Memphis, allowing just four earned runs in 16.1 innings. Pallante certainly did enough to warrant another turn in the Cards' rotation -- he'd currently line up for a road matchup with the Astros early next week.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Set to start Wednesday

Pallante is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Reds, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Pallante's start will be his first in the big leagues since 2022. The right-hander made nine appearances in relief for St. Louis earlier in the season but he had worked out of the rotation since being optioned to Triple-A Memphis on April 21 prior to being recalled Sunday. In four appearances (three starts) with Memphis, Pallante turned in a 2.20 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 9:13 K:BB in 16.1 innings.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Back up to majors

The Cardinals recalled Pallante from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Reliever Nick Robertson (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Before being sent down to the minors April 21, Pallante appeared in nine games for the Cardinals, registering a 6.30 ERA and 1.90 WHIP across 10 frames. The 25-year-old right-hander has since been deployed as a starter for Memphis, and he worked 4.1 innings in his most recent outing May 17. He could be used as a spot starter for Wednesday's game against the Reds, according to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
