Nationals' C.J. Stubbs: Inks minors deal with Nationals

The Nationals signed Stubbs to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Stubbs had been in the Astros system but was released after slashing just .121/.244/.212 over 21 contests between the Double- and Triple-A levels. The 27-year-old will give the Nats some catching depth.

Stubbs was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Astros on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Stubbs did some damage in the few chances he was given this spring, going 7-for-13 with a home run. He'll likely start the season at Double-A Corpus Christi.
