It's the first report of the injury for Varsho, but it makes sense as he hasn't been in the lineup since Tuesday against the Mets. The Blue Jays have a scheduled day off Monday, so the outfielder will have another two full days to rest up before Tuesday's series opener against the Rangers.

Manager John Schneider said Saturday that Varsho has been playing through a right shoulder issue, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca Zwelling reports.
Zwelling posits that the Blue Jays could take advantage of their upcoming off days Monday and Thursday and rest Varsho and other players battling through injuries. In the five contests following his nine-game hitting streak, Varsho has gone 2-for-16 with one solo home run and five strikeouts.
Varsho is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
Earlier Monday, the Blue Jays and Red Sox completed a game that was originally suspended in the second inning June 26 due to inclement weather.
