Twins' Cody Laweryson: Signs with Twins
Laweryson signed a minor-league contract with Minnesota on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Laweryson was claimed off waivers by the Angels from the Twins in November, but he was later released. The right-handed reliever posted a 7:0 K:BB while yielding two runs (one earned) over 7.2 innings with the Twins in 2025. Although on a minor-league contract, he may have a shot to win a spot in the bullpen in a wide open competition.

Angels' Cody Laweryson: Removed from 40-man roster
The Angels designated Laweryson for assignment Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
The transaction frees a spot on the 40-man roster for the re-signing of Yoan Moncada, which was officially announced Monday. Laweryson was a waiver claim of the Angels back in November after he yielded two runs (one earned) with a 7:0 K:BB over 7.2 frames covering five relief outings for the Twins in 2025. He could be appealing on waivers to teams in need of bullpen depth.

Angels' Cody Laweryson: Claimed by Halos
The Angels claimed Laweryson off waivers from the Twins on Thursday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Laweryson made his MLB debut in September, and the 27-year-old right-hander yielded merely one run across 7.1 innings in the closing weeks of the regular season. He struck out seven batters and didn't record a walk. He'll have a chance to build on his strong debut with a new organization.

The Twins selected Laweryson's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
Laweryson's next appearance with the Twins will be his MLB debut. The 27-year-old right-hander has logged 44 innings of work between Double-A and Triple-A this season, posting a 2.86 ERA and 9.2 K/9. Laweryson will likely slot into Minnesota's bullpen in middle relief.

Twins' Cody Laweryson: Shakes off biceps injury
Laweryson (biceps) made his Grapefruit League debut Tuesday in the Twins' 3-3 tie with the Phillies, striking out three over one inning while allowing two earned runs on one hit.
Laweryson served up a two-run home run that put the Twins in a 3-0 hole in the top of the seventh, but Minnesota rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to salvage a tie. A 25-year-old right-hander who has yet to reach the majors, Laweryson isn't a serious threat to make the Twins' Opening Day roster, but he at least appears to be healthy entering the 2024 season after he didn't pitch after Aug. 15 of last season due to right biceps tendinitis.

Twins' Cody Laweryson: Dealing with biceps issue
Laweryson was placed on the 7-day injured list Aug. 16 by Triple-A St. Paul due to right biceps tendinitis, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
Laweryson was in big-league camp with the Twins during spring training but was unable to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. The 25-year-old posted a 1.06 ERA for Double-A Wichita last year but has scuffled at Triple-A with a 4.80 ERA and 4.5 BB/9 in 32 appearances. It's unclear how long the right-hander is expected to be sidelind.

Twins' Cody Laweryson: Reassigned to minors camp
The Twins reassigned Laweryson to minor-league camp Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Laweryson was dominant on the mount last season with Double-A Wichita, recording a minuscule 1.06 ERA and 0.95 WHIP through 59.2 innings. He could return to Wichita to start 2023, though based on his track record, the Twins might feel comfortable bumping the 24-year-old righty up to Triple-A St. Paul.
