  • White Sox's Cam Booser: Notches first save

Booser threw a perfect ninth inning to earn a save against Miami on Sunday. Booser needed only six pitches (five strikes) to retire the Marlins' 8-9-1 hitters in Sunday's win. It was his first save of the season after picking up his first win of the year Friday against Miami. He now owns a 4.80 ERA with a 15:8 K:B across 15 innings. Two of Booser's last three appearances have been save opportunities, and the White Sox's closer role still appears to be very fluid.

  • White Sox's Cam Booser: Blows save chance

Booser (0-3) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk while recording only one out to blow the save and take the loss Tuesday against the Royals. Booser was brought in to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and suffered from a combination of poor pitching and bad luck. He walked the leadoff man, but Chase Meidroth had a pop fly bounce off his head one batter later. A subsequent pair of singles -- one of which didn't leave the infield -- gave the Royals the walk-off win. Booser started the season decently but has allowed six earned runs across his last 4.1 innings of work and doesn't look likely to continue to see save chances.

  • Red Sox's Cam Booser: Back from injured list

The Red Sox activated Booser (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday. Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports. The left-hander landed on the shelf due to elbow inflammation in mid-August and is ready to rejoin the active roster after two scoreless rehab appearances. Booser has been effective out of the bullpen during his rookie campaign with a 3.00 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 42:13 K:BB over 42 innings.

  • Red Sox's Cam Booser: Restarts rehab assignment

Booser (elbow) struck out a batter and gave up one hit in a scoreless inning in his rehab appearance Saturday with Double-A Portland. Booser began his rehab assignment Aug. 29 with Triple-A Worcester, but he took a one-week break before making his return to game action this weekend, albeit at a different affiliate. The left-hander looked sharp Saturday and may require just one or two more appearances in the minors before returning from the 15-day injured list.

  • Red Sox's Cam Booser: Goes on IL with elbow injury

The Red Sox placed Booser on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with left elbow inflammation, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. Booser failed to retire any of the three batters he faced in Tuesday's win over the Rangers, but it appears his elbow might have been bothering him in the outing. It's not clear at this point how much time he might miss. Brennan Bernardino was called up from Triple-A Worcester to replace Booser in the bullpen.

  • Red Sox's Cam Booser: Recalled from Triple-A

The Red Sox recalled Booser from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports. Booser was just sent down Wednesday but is back to take the roster spot of Brayan Bello, who went on paternity leave. Booser, a lefty reliever, holds a 2.77 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 38 appearances with the Red Sox this season.

  • Red Sox's Cam Booser: Sent back to minors

The Red Sox optioned Booser to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Chris Henrique of Beyond the Monster reports. This transaction looks to be entirely due to Booser having minor-league options available and having pitched each of the last three days, as he likely wasn't going to be available for at least a day or two. Booser should be back with the big club soon.

  • Red Sox's Cam Booser: To be promoted Friday

The Red Sox will promote Booser from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. Booser has struck out 15 batters and walked just one while posting a 2.70 ERA and 0.65 WHIP across 6.2 innings at Triple-A this season. The 31-year-old southpaw will provide depth to a badly injured Red Sox pitching staff and will be making his MLB debut once he gets into a game.
