Hamilton signed a minor-league contract with the Angels on Thursday, Taylor Blake Ward of The Sporting Tribune reports. Hamilton is a defense-first catcher who is somehow 1-for-23 with 19 strikeouts during his brief chances in the majors. He'll give the Angels some catching depth at Triple-A Salt Lake.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Hamilton: Remains in organization

Hamilton cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports. The 28-year-old was recently designated for assignment but will stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. • Red Sox's Caleb Hamilton: Designated for assignment

Hamilton was designated for assignment Thursday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports. The move is being made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man and 26-man rosters for the signing of Jorge Alfaro. Hamilton was up with the Red Sox for a couple weeks but hardly saw the field, going hitless in six plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Hamilton: Reassigned to minors camp

The Red Sox reassigned Hamilton to minor-league camp Friday. Hamilton had a solid season in Triple-A last year, slashing .238/.371/.447 with 42 RBI through 251 plate appearances, and has also got a cup of coffee with the Twins. If Hamilton proves he can maintain a similar level of output with Triple-A Worcester, he'll likely return to the majors at some point this year.

  • Twins' Caleb Hamilton: Recalled from minors

The Twins recalled Hamilton from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Hamilton appeared in three games and went 0-for-5 before being demoted at the beginning of August. He figures to play sparingly as long as Gary Sanchez and Sandy Leon are healthy and active.

  • Twins' Caleb Hamilton: Contract selected by Minnesota

Hamilton had his contract selected by the Twins on Friday. The 27-year-old will receive his first taste of the big leagues with starting catcher Ryan Jeffers (thumb) placed on the injured list.
