  • Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Sitting Sunday

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals. Since being called up from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Vaughn has gotten off to a red-hot start to his time with the Brewers, recording at least one hit in each of his first five games while producing a 1.500 OPS and driving in 10 runs. The Brewers haven't yet committed to Vaughn as a full-time player, however, as Jake Bauers will replace him in the lineup Sunday while Milwaukee looks to keep both players involved at first base in the absence of Rhys Hoskins (thumb).

  • Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Drives in four in win

Vaughn went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Nationals. Vaughn has hit safely in all five of his games with Milwaukee, going 6-for-14 (.429) with four extra-base hits and 10 RBI. The first baseman delivered a pair of two-run doubles Saturday, with the second being a game-tying hit during the Brewers' ninth-inning comeback. Vaughn is slashing .206/.239/.362 with seven homers, 29 RBI, 10 doubles, 12 runs scored and no stolen bases over 209 plate appearances overall between the White Sox and Brewers this season, though he's taking full advantage of his opportunity to play while Rhys Hoskins (thumb) is on the mend.

  • Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Taking seat Wednesday

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers. After getting called up from Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Vaughn started at first base in both of the first two contests of the series with the Dodgers, going 2-for-5 with a home run, two walks, four RBI and two runs. Jake Bauers will get the nod at first base Wednesday, but Vaughn could end up seeing the bulk of the starts at the position while Rhys Hoskins (thumb) is on the shelf until around mid-to-late August.

  • Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Goes yard in team debut

Vaughn went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored during Monday's 9-1 win over the Dodgers. After Vaughn had spent the previous three weeks at Triple-A Nashville following his acquisition from the White Sox on June 13, the Brewers called up the 27-year-old first baseman from the minors to replace Rhys Hoskins (thumb) on the active roster. Vaughn entered the starting nine in his first game with Milwaukee and made an instant impact, taking Yoshinobu Yamamoto deep in the first inning and plating Sal Frelick and William Contreras to stake the Brewers to an early lead. While Vaughn's long-term role with the Brewers remains unclear, the fact that he drew the start at first base against the right-handed Yamamoto over the lefty-hitting Jake Bauers suggests that Vaughn will get a look as the team's primary option at the position while Hoskins is on the shelf.

  • Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Starting at first base against RHP

Vaughn will start at first base and bat fifth in Monday's game versus the Dodgers. The Brewers are throwing Vaughn right into the lineup after he took the roster spot of the injured Rhys Hoskins (thumb). While the Brewers also figure to give Jake Bauers reps at first base while Hoskins is out, it's notable that the right-handed-hitting Vaughn is getting the first shot against Dodgers right Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Vaughn was acquired via trade from the White Sox last month after he slashed .248/.303/.407 in parts of five seasons with the Pale Hose.

  • Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Moves up to big club

The Brewers recalled Vaughn from Triple-A Nashville on Monday. Though he was acquired from the White Sox on June 13, Vaughn had played exclusively at Nashville since the trade but will now get the chance to join Milwaukee after first baseman Rhys Hoskins (thumb) landed on the injured list in a corresponding move. The absence of Hoskins opens up an everyday spot in the lineup, but rather than leaning on the right-handed Vaughn as the primary option at first base, manager Pat Murphy could be inclined to deploy Vaughn in the short side of a platoon with the left-handed-hitting Jake Bauers. Vaughn had been performing effectively for Nashville prior to his call-up, slashing .259/.338/.500 with three home runs and a 10.8 percent walk rate over 65 plate appearances with the affiliate.

  • Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Going to Brewers

The Brewers have acquired Vaughn from the White Sox on Friday in exchange for right-hander Aaron Civale, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports. Vaughn was demoted to Triple-A Charlotte last month after slashing only .189/.218/.314 with five home runs across 193 plate appearances. The third overall pick in the 2019 First-Year Player Draft has been a disappointment at the big-league level, slashing .248/.303/.407 over parts of five seasons. In MIlwaukee, Vaughn will be behind Rhys Hoskins at first base and Christian Yelich at designated hitter, so he'll likely go to Triple-A Nashville in hopes of finding his swing, but his results at Charlotte thus far (.211/.328/.368 in 67 plate appearances) haven't been pretty. The 27-year-old is making $5.85 million in 2025 and has another year of team control next season.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Sent to Triple-A

The White Sox optioned Vaughn to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday. Vaughn is the odd man out after the White Sox activated both Andrew Benintendi (calf) and Mike Tauchman (hamstring) from the 10-day IL on Friday. Vaughn has been an MLB regular with the White Sox since 2021, but he's gotten off to a horrible start in 2025, slashing .189/.218/.314 with five home runs, 19 RBI, nine runs scored, zero stolen bases and a 7:43 BB:K across 193 plate appearances. Vaughn will try to find his swing at Triple-A.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Heading to bench Sunday

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs. Vaughn started the previous 24 contests but will step out of the starting nine after posting a .215/.237/.344 slash line during that stretch. Joshua Palacios is batting third as the designated hitter while Michael Taylor starts in right field Sunday.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Smacks another homer

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Marlins. Vaughn was responsible for the White Sox's only run of the game, as he took Edward Cabrera deep to left field for a solo homer in the first inning. Vaughn has registered solo home runs in back-to-back games and has gone 10-for-37 with three runs scored, two home runs and four RBI since the beginning of May.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Snaps homerless stretch

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Marlins. Vaughn popped his fourth home run of the season in the second inning of Friday's win, his first long ball since April 20. He's still managed some moderate production in that span, hitting .243 with seven RBI and four runs scored across 18 games.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Still struggling

Vaughn went 1-for-3 with a run scored Thursday against the Brewers. Vaughn recorded a single in the sixth inning to extend his hitting streak to a modest four games. However, the good news ends there, as he is still hitting only .167 with a career-worst 23.1 percent strikeout rate. Vaughn also has only one extra-base hit in his last nine games, causing his ISO to dip to .105 across 121 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Exits starting nine

Vaughn is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Boston. It's a day off for Vaughn, who had started every game since April 4. Nick Maton is covering first base and batting leadoff for the White Sox, while Andrew Benintendi is getting at start at designated hitter.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Homers in win

Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Red Sox. Vaughn extended the team's lead to 7-4 with a 405-foot blast off Liam Hendriks in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old snapped a modest five-game hit streak Saturday but rebounded with his first multi-hit effort of the season. Overall, he's slashing an uninspiring .152/.193/.291 with three home runs, 10 RBI and five runs scored across 83 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Slugs second homer Tuesday

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Tuesday against the Athletics. Vaughn deposited a Jeffrey Springs changeup into deep left field, tying the game up at 3-3 in the first inning. The White Sox are relying on Vaughn to be one of their big bats in 2025, but the former top prospect is off to a brutal start at the dish. Over his first 57 at-bats, Vaughn is slashing just .123/.180/.263 with two homers, two doubles, eight RBI and three runs scored.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Draws three walks Wednesday

Vaughn went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts, three walks and one run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Cleveland. Vaughn was able to reach base three times Wednesday despite not recording a hit, and he scored the first run of the game on a Lenyn Sosa RBI single in the first inning. Vaughn has reached base in six of his last eight games but has gone 5-for-28 with four walks, one home run and five RBI over that span.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: First day off Wednesday

Vaughn is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins. It's the first day off this season for Vaughn, who is 3-for-19 with a home run in the first five contests. Nick Maton will start at first base and bat leadoff for the White Sox on Wednesday.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Little pop in spring

Vaughn has only one extra-base hit across 26 at-bats in Cactus League action. Vaughn has seven hits this spring, leading to a decent .269 average. The lack of pop could be a concern, though he's been very consistent across his four big-league seasons by posting ISOs between .156 and .171 in each campaign. Vaughn doesn't appear to have much upside heading into the 2025 season -- especially considering the state of the White Sox's lineup -- but he should be a near everyday player hitting in the middle of the order.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Avoids arbitration hearing

Vaughn signed a one-year, $5.85 million contract with the White Sox on Thursday to avoid arbitration, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports. Vaughn had a career-worst .699 OPS over 149 games in 2024 but will still receive a sizable raise in his second year of arbitration eligibility. The 26-year-old should open 2025 as Chicago's primary first baseman, but his opportunities could shrink if he continues to regress.

  • White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Logs three hits

Vaughn went 3-for-4 with a two-RBI single and a run scored during Thursday's 7-0 win over the Angels. All seven runs scored by the ChiSox came in the fifth inning, and Vaughn started the scoring by plating Dominic Fletcher and Miguel Vargas on an RBI single. Vaughn came around to score in the frame on a Lenyn Sosa double. In September, Vaughn is 25-for-78 (.320) with four home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs.
