  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Earns fifth win Saturday

Miller (5-1) worked around a hit in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning to earn the win Saturday against the Reds. Chicago starter Kyle Hendricks was stellar through 7.1 innings as he kept Cincinnati off the board, but the Cubs turned to Miller to get through the top of the eighth. The righty delivered and then was set up for the win when the Cubs scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the eighth. Miller has been excellent for Chicago this season with a 2.32 ERA and 0.81 WHIP across 62 innings of relief, and his five wins are the most on the team among current members of the bullpen.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Rough outing again Tuesday

Miller allowed three runs on two hits and a walk across an inning of relief in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Pirates. Chicago already trailed 2-0 when Miller came on in the seventh inning, so the righty didn't take the loss, though he didn't help his team's cause, either. Miller allowed a three-run bomb to Jared Triolo, who has just a .599 OPS this season, to cap off the rough outing. This is the second time in his last three appearances that Miller has allowed three runs, but he still has a strong 2.61 ERA overall, so it's probably not time to hit the panic button quite yet.

  • Cubs' Tyson Miller: Picks up win Friday

Miller (4-1) tossed a scoreless 10th inning to earn the win out of the bullpen Friday against the Blue Jays. After Hector Neris blew the save by allowing three runs in the ninth inning, Miller picked Chicago up with a much better 10th, needing just five pitches to shut the door on Toronto. The righty has been solid this season, as he now has a 1.83 ERA and 0.77 WHIP across 44.1 innings for the Cubs and Mariners. If Neris gets pulled from the closer role due to his middling performance, Miller could be a candidate to see save opportunities, though Porter Hodge is probably ahead of him right now in the bullpen pecking order.

  • Mariners' Tyson Miller: Could be call-up candidate

Miller, who was impressive during Cactus League play and has a 2.25 ERA over his first four appearances with Triple-A Tacoma, is a likely candidate for promotion if Collin Snider (knee) is forced to miss time, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports. Snider took a 102 mph comebacker to his left knee in Sunday's loss to the Brewers, resulting a kneecap contusion. If Snider is deemed unavailable for at least the next several days, the Mariners would be likely to call up a reliever to remain on the taxi squad during the three-game series that begins in Toronto on Monday. Given Miller has been able to carry over his spring success into Tacoma for the time being, he could be the best candidate the team has for such a move.

  • Mariners' Tyson Miller: Draws praise from Servais

Miller, who has yet to allow an earned run through three Cactus League appearances, has drawn praise from manager Scott Servais for his mechanics and performance, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports. Miller was most recently on the mound Friday against the Cubs, firing two perfect innings during which he recorded a strikeout. The 28-year-old posted a 1-0 record, 4.70 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 10 appearances for the Mets, Dodgers and Brewers in 2023, and he's working with a four-pitch arsenal that features a fastball and slider the Mariners particularly like. Miller could break camp as a multi-inning relief option if he continues impressing, and Servais notes the right-hander compares favorably in certainly ways to a recent effective Mariners late-inning option. "I really liked what I saw out of Miller." Servais said. "He has a lot of release point characteristics, pitch characteristics that Paul Sewald had as far as how he does it."

  • Mariners' Tyson Miller: Signs minors contract with Seattle

Miller signed a minor-league contract Friday with the Mariners, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. Miller elected to become a free agent in October after being pushed off the Dodgers' 40-man roster. The 28-year-old right-hander has mostly struggled in his time at the major-league level, but he posted a decent 3.50 ERA and 50:15 K:BB over 43.2 innings this past season in Triple-A.

  • Dodgers' Tyson Miller: Outrighted to Triple-A

Miller was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday. Miller was designated for assignment by Los Angeles on Wednesday and he has now been outrighted to Triple-A. • Dodgers' Tyson Miller: Scooped up by Dodgers

The Dodgers claimed Miller off waivers from the Mets on Sunday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. Miller will begin his second stint in the Dodgers organization in this month alone, as Los Angeles had previously lost him to New York in a waiver claim Aug. 4. The Mets eventually booted Miller off their 40-man roster a few weeks later, but the right-hander will get another look in the Los Angeles bullpen while the Dodgers currently have eight relievers on the injured list. Since Miller has already been optioned to the minors five times this season between stops with the Brewers, Mets and Dodgers, he'll need to be added to Los Angeles' 26-man active roster. The Dodgers already cleared a spot for Miller on the 40-man roster by transferring Tony Gonsolin (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL.

  • Mets' Tyson Miller: Nabs win in team debut

Miller (1-0) earned the win Monday against the Pirates. He allowed two walks over two scoreless innings. Miller made a positive first impression in his Mets debut after being called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. The right-hander worked around a pair of walks, delivering two scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season. Miller now sports a 5.40 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB across 13.1 innings this season between the Mets, Dodgers and Brewers. He'll likely fill a middle-relief role in New York going forward.

  • Brewers' Tyson Miller: Sent to Triple-A

Miller was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Miller was called up from Nashville in late April and appeared in three games during his time with the Brewers, allowing one run on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks across 4.2 innings. He has a 1.42 ERA over 12.2 frames at Triple-A this year and should rejoin the big club at some point later in the season.

  • Brewers' Tyson Miller: Sent to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Miller will retain a spot on the 40-man roster heading into Opening Day, but he'll fall short on winning a spot in Milwaukee's season-opening bullpen. The 28-year-old covered 10.2 innings at the big-league level with the Rangers in 2022, giving up 13 earned runs on 16 hits and eight walks.

  • Rangers' Tyson Miller: Sent down by Texas

Miller was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday. Miller made his final start of the season Sunday against the Angels, allowing seven runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out five in four innings to take the loss. He posted a 10.97 ERA and 2.25 WHIP in 10.2 innings over four appearances (two starts) in the majors this year and isn't guaranteed a major-league role to begin the 2023 campaign.

  • Rangers' Tyson Miller: Lit up in start

Miller (1-2) allowed seven runs on nine hits, three walks and a hit batter while striking out five over four innings to take the loss versus the Angels on Sunday. Miller was shaky from the get-go, allowing six of the seven runs on his line in the first inning. Mike Trout tacked on a solo home run in the fourth. Miller posted a 10.97 ERA, 2.25 WHIP and 8:8 K:BB across 10.2 major-league innings this year. The 27-year-old isn't scheduled for another start in 2022, and he hasn't shown much to suggest he'll be in contention for a big-league role to begin 2023.

  • Rangers' Tyson Miller: Promotion imminent

Miller will be called up from Triple-A Round Rock prior to Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Miller has thrown three innings in the majors this season, allowing six runs in the process. Since he was most recently working as a member of Round Rock's rotation and covered five innings in his last outing Sept. 18, he could end up serving as a bulk reliever behind Jesus Tinoco, who is scheduled to serve as the Rangers' opening pitcher in Tuesday's game.
