The Miami Heat will be shorthanded Friday night against the Pistons. Dwyane Wade is out with a hamstring, along with Ray Allen (flu), Mario Chalmers (quad), and Greg Oden (back) will all miss the game, the Heat announced before the game.

That takes out three starters and a key reserve. After Miami lost to the Pacers, they slipped three games back of the Pacers for the top seed in the East. Now four key players are out. Maybe it's a coincidence but it certainly feels like they're conceding the No. 1 seed. Then again, it's Detroit, so they can beat them anyway.
