Holland racked up 20 points (7-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, an assist and a steal across 29 minutes Saturday against the Wolves.
Holland drained an impressive 70.0 percent of his attempts from the field and knocked home four treys in a blowout victory at home. Though he hasn't solidified his spot within the starting five, he's been one of Austin's top role players, averaging 13.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 27.6 minutes per contest (22 games).

Holland was waived by the Cavaliers on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Holland was let go by the Cavs after appearing in just one game during garbage time this season. Andrew Harrison was brought in to replace Holland on Cleveland's roster.

Cavaliers' John Holland: Leads all scorers in SL win
Holland registered 23 points (8-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, one steal and one block across 29 minutes during the Cavaliers' 82-68 win over the Raptors in a Las Vegas Summer League quarterfinal-round contest Sunday.
The 29-year-old logged his first 24 games of regular-season action in the 2017-18 campaign, averaging just 7.3 minutes. He hadn't been able to do much in Las Vegas to further his case before Sunday, however, as he'd come in averaging just 5.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steal across 25.2 minutes over five games. His team-high scoring total and stellar shooting percentage against the Raptors was, therefore, a pleasant surprise, but it may not be enough to earn Holland a chance to continue proving his worth in training camp. If it isn't, he ultimately could find himself back with the G-League's Canton Charge, where he averaged 18.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals across 34.2 minutes over 23 games. He'll have at least one more chance to make an impression for the time being now that he's helped Cleveland advance to the semifinal round.

Cavaliers' John Holland: Will be activated Friday
Holland (shoulder) is expected to suit up and play in Friday's game against the Hawks, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
Holland has been out since Dec. 15 with a left shoulder subluxation, but appears to be back to full strength after logging 37 minutes for the G League's Canton Charge on Monday. The Cavaliers shipped out six players at the trade deadline and all of the four players obtained in corresponding moves likely won't be ready to play just yet. That should leave some playing time to fill off the bench, which is where Holland should come in. Look for Holland to get a handful of minutes, though it won't be enough to warrant any sort of usage in fantasy leagues or DFS contests.

Cavaliers' John Holland: Out 4-to-6 weeks with shoulder injury
Holland suffered a left shoulder subluxation in Wednesday's G-League game and is out 4-to-6 weeks.
Holland has spent most of his rookie season in the G-League with the Canton Charge, but he has appeared in three games with the Cavaliers this season. He's expected to remain with the Charge while he rehabs the shoulder injury.

Holland's contract with the Cavaliers is two-way, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.
Due to the nature of two-way contracts, Holland will spend the majority of the season with the Cavaliers' G-League affiliate, the Canton Charge. He may spend up to 45 days at the NBA level, however. He played 37 games with the Charge last year, posting 22.9 points, 4.7 boards, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals across 38.8 minutes per contest.

Holland will sign a contract with the Cavaliers, international writer David Pick reports.
Holland reportedly had multiple high level offers in Europe, but will instead head to training camp with Cleveland in hopes of making the team's regular-season roster. The fact that the Cavaliers already have 15 guaranteed contracts doesn't bode well for Holland's chances and even if he does make the team, he'll be nothing more than a deep reserve. That said, it could be in the form of a two-way contract, which would allow Holland to spend up to 45 days with the Cavaliers, while playing in the G-League the rest of the time. Holland was very impressive in 37 G-League games last season with the Charge, averaging 22.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals across 38.8 minutes.

John Holland: Signs with Chinese club
Holland signed a contract Monday with Beijing Dongfang of the Chinese National Basketball League, Sam Amico of AmicoHoops.com reports.
The 29-year-old Holland spent the entire season with the D-League's Canton Charge after being cut by their parent club, the Cavaliers, out of training camp in the fall. After averaging 22.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the Charge, Holland will get his chance to showcase his skills abroad with the hopes of eventually showing back up on the NBA radar.

The Cavaliers decided to waive Holland on Saturday, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.
Holland was competing for the final spot on Cleveland's roster heading into the regular season, but ultimately came up short. He was originally considered a long shot due to the wing depth the Cavaliers already have. It is unclear what the 27-year old Boston University product will do next.

Holland provided a team-leading 23 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three assists, two steals and one block across 31 minutes in Friday's 118-108 preseason loss to the Bulls.
There's no denying that Holland turned in an impressive outing, but it likely isn't of any consequence, as he was already on the outside looking in for a roster spot even before J.R. Smith re-signed with the team Friday on a four-year, $57 million deal. At this point, Holland is more realistically auditioning for a spot with the Cavs' D-League affiliate, the Canton Charge.

It was the preseason debut for Holland, who had missed three consecutive games with a lower-back strain. Though he's now healthy, it appears Holland has already lost too much ground in the competition for the Cavs' 15th roster spot, so it's likely he'll be cut before the regular season arrives.

Holland signed with the team at the tail-end of last season and only appeared in one game for Boston. At 6-foot-5, Holland boasts solid size for the shooting guard position, but ultimately, the Celtics found that had enough backcourt depth where they didn't need to keep him under contract.
