  • Wizards' Khris Middleton: Likely out through break

Smart (recently traded) isn't expected to make his Wizards debut after the All-Star break, sources tell Josh Robbins of The Athletic. Before being acquired from the Bucks on Wednesday, Middleton had been operating under a playing-time restriction as Milwaukee eased him back from offseason surgeries on both of his ankles. Though Middleton appears to be healthy, the non-contending Wizards aren't in any rush to have the 33-year-old make his team debut, so he'll get some extra time to get integrated in Washington. The Wizards plan to take a similar approach with another veteran trade-deadline pickup in Marcus Smart, who will also be held out along with Middleton through the All-Star break before both players likely suit up Feb. 21 versus the Bucks. Middleton had averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game over 23 appearances with the Bucks prior to being traded.

  • Wizards' Khris Middleton: Remains out Saturday

Middleton (not with team) is listed as out for Saturday's game versus the Hawks. The Wizards acquired Middleton from the Bucks on Wednesday, but the veteran wing will receive more time off to get integrated to his new team before making his debut. Middleton had been serving as the Bucks' sixth man prior to being traded, but he could enter the Wizards' starting five once he's ready to suit up for Washington.

  • Wizards' Khris Middleton: Won't face Cleveland on Friday

Middleton (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Cleveland. Middleton was recently acquired by the Wizards via trade and will have to wait until at least Saturday's game against Atlanta to make his debut. The veteran swingman will likely remain under a minutes restriction whenever he returns, as the Bucks were still managing his playing time following bilateral ankle surgeries in the offseason. Middleton has surpassed the 30-minute mark only once this season, averaging 12.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game over 23 regular-season appearances (seven starts).

  • Wizards' Khris Middleton: Moves to D.C.

The Wizards acquired Middleton (ankles), guard AJ Johnson and a 2028 first-round pick swap from the Bucks on Wednesday in exchange for forwards Kyle Kuzma and Patrick Baldwin and a 2025 second-round pick, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Middleton hasn't really found his stride since undergoing surgeries on both ankles during the offseason. He didn't make his season debut until Dec. 6 and had been recently moved to the Milwaukee bench in favor of Taurean Prince. On paper, Middleton could be a massive part of Washington's offense, but he's 33 years old, and the Wizards are in the early stages of a rebuild. He'll likely continue to see frequent rest days to manage his ankle, and the Wizards will presumably look to keep his minutes in check on the occasions he suits up. Middleton has surpassed the 30-minute mark just once in his 23 appearances for the Bucks this season.

  • Bucks' Khris Middleton: Likely to play Wednesday

Middleton (ankles) has been listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Hornets. After missing Monday's loss to the Thunder, which was the second night of a back-to-back set, Middleton is trending toward getting back on the floor. The veteran shooter is averaging a career-low 12.6 points per game this season for Milwaukee but might be starting to return to form in that department, scoring 20 or more points in three of the last four games.

  • Bucks' Khris Middleton: Out Monday for injury management

Middleton is out for Monday's game against the Thunder due to bilateral ankle injury management, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports. Though Middleton had played in both ends of the Bucks' most recent back-to-back set last Monday and Tuesday, he'll end up sitting out against the Thunder after logging 26 minutes in Sunday's 132-119 loss to the Grizzlies. Milwaukee will be shorthanded Monday, as Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) is also out, while Bobby Portis (personal) is doubtful. Damian Lillard and Brook Lopez will need to handle increased high-level offensive responsibilities, while players such as Andre Jackson, Gary Trent, AJ Green and Pat Connaughton could all see extra minutes.

  • Bucks' Khris Middleton: Fills box score off bench Sunday

Middleton (ankles) provided 20 points (7-10 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 26 minutes during Sunday's 132-119 loss to Memphis. Middleton offered a lift off Milwaukee's bench with 20 points Sunday, but the team's sluggish fourth quarter was too much to overcome. The veteran forward has been as boom-or-bust as any fantasy player lately, as he's hit the 20-point threshold in three of his past five outings but gone scoreless in the other two games. Middleton hasn't started since the Jan. 4 loss to Portland. The Bucks appear to be content with him serving in a reserve role for the time being.

It was a surprise to see Middleton active for the second leg of this back-to-back set, but the Bucks were shorthanded and that may have factored into the decision. He's been very inconsistent lately, as he's been held without a point in two of his last three games. During the other game, he had 22 points in 27 minutes.
