  • Troy Caupain: Heading overseas

Caupain came to terms Sunday on a contract with Hapoel Holon of the Israeli Basketball Premier League, EuroBasket.com reports.

As a two-way player for the Magic last season, Caupain appeared in four contests, averaging only 4.0 minutes per appearance. After signing a camp deal with the Trail Blazers and failing to make the opening night roster, Caupain elected to head overseas rather than accepting a contract in the G League.

  • Trail Blazers' Troy Caupain: Inks camp deal with Blazers

Caupain agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Trail Blazers on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Undrafted out of Cincinnati in 2017, Caupain has played in just four NBA games. He spent essentially all of last season with the Lakeland Magic of the G League, where he averaged 16.4 points on 12.7 shots, 5.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 33.7 minutes. Portland will give him a training camp tryout, and it's possible Caupain will land a roster spot and be able to provide the team with additional backcourt depth.

  • Magic's Troy Caupain: Heads to G League

Orlando transferred Caupain to the G League's Lakeland Magic on Monday.

Caupain will head back to the G League in advance of Lakeland's showdown Friday with the winner of the Westchester Knicks-Windy City Bulls series. The two-way guard has played almost exclusively at the G League level this season, logging only four appearances with Orlando.

  • Troy Caupain: Respectable box score in win

Caupain finished Tuesday's blowout win over Windy City with 22 points (9-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Caupain and fellow two-way player Amile Jefferson combined to score 55 of the team's 141 points, with the majority coming in the first half of a contest that quickly got out of hand. Caupain has been a vital part of Lakeland's playoff-clinching roster, averaging 16.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.23 assists and 0.9 steals in 47 games.

  • Magic's Troy Caupain: Moves back to parent club

Caupain was recalled from the G League's Lakeland Magic on Monday.

Caupain will presumably practice with Orlando on Monday, but it's unclear if he'll stick around with the parent club through its next game Tuesday in Philadelphia. Even if he suits up for contest, Caupain wouldn't be included in coach Steve Clifford's rotation and would be looking at little more than garbage-time minutes.

  • Magic's Troy Caupain: Scores 22 in loss

Caupain finished Friday's loss to the Stars with 22 points (8-18 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two steals and one assist.

There's a possibility Orlando's two-way player could factor more into the team's plans towards the end of the NBA regular season, but for the moment Caupain is a legitimate threat at the G League level. So long as Caupain continues to soak up minutes (he played 40 on Friday), it's hard to fathom the combo guard struggling to put together production.

  • Magic's Troy Caupain: Drops 21 in win over Agua Caliente

Caupain scored 21 points (9-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-0 FT,) and earned 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals in Lakeland's 131-120 win over Agua Caliente on Wednesday.

Caupain has been a model of consistency for Lakeland ever since joining the team last year. Averaging 16.6 points per game this season on a shooting average of 45.7 percent, Caupain has shown he knows how to give himself good looks at the basket while acting as a catalyst for the offense. In the first quarter, Caupain picked up five points along with his three assists before taking over the second quarter with seven points. Caupain didn't have a great fourth quarter, but he had already all but locked up the win for Lakeland, who remain in second place in the Eastern conference.

  • Magic's Troy Caupain: Makes NBA debut

Caupain played five minutes off the bench Monday in the Magic's 125-100 loss to the Hornets, finishing with five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two assists, one rebound and one steal.

Caupain has rarely suited up for Orlando this season, as the two-way player has instead spent the bulk of his time with the G League's Lakeland Magic. However, with all of D.J. Augustin (ankle), Jonathon Simmons (ankle) and Timofey Mozgov (knee) inactive for the contest, Caupain was included on the bench and made his long-awaited NBA debut in garbage time. The injuries to Augustin and Simmons don't appear to be long-term concerns, so it wouldn't be surprising if Caupain returned to the inactive list as soon as Wednesday in Chicago.

  • Magic's Troy Caupain: Inks two-way contract with Magic

Caupain signed a two-way contract with the Magic on Tuesday, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

The Orlando organization is plenty familiar with Caupain, as he's currently playing for their summer league squad and also spent the 2017-18 campaign playing for the team's G-League affiliate, the Lakeland Magic. In 50 games with Lakeland, Caupain averaged 15.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.4 steals across 37.5 minutes. He also knocked down 43.2 percent of his field goal attempts and 34.5 percent of his three-pointers. While the 6-foot-4 guard could certainly use some added consistency with his shot, the Magic still like his upside and are willing to give him a two-way contract. That means Caupain will be able to spend up to 45 days at the NBA level with the Magic, while the rest of his time will be playing for the team's G-League affiliate once again.

He started all 50 games he appeared in, averaging 15.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.4 steals.
