Sabonis contributed 20 points (8-10 FG, 4-4 3Pt), 12 rebounds, six assists and three steals across 24 minutes during Sunday's 109-98 victory over Phoenix. Sabonis logged only 24 minutes, but that was enough to give him his 61st double-double of the season, giving him the league lead in that category for the third consecutive campaign. Sabonis should be one of the Kings' go-to players in the Play-In Tournament, beginning with a matchup against the Mavericks on Wednesday, due to his elite two-way ability. He finished the campaign with 61 double-doubles in 70 games, averaging 19.1 points, 13.9 rebounds, 6.0 assists and a combined 1.1 steals-plus-blocks across 34.7 minutes per game.... See More ... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Posts strong double-double
Sabonis logged 19 points (8-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 16 rebounds, five assists and one steal over 39 minutes during Friday's 101-100 loss to the Clippers. Sabonis continues to lead the league in double-doubles with 60 in 69 appearances, and he will claim the crown in that category if he achieves that feat in Sunday's matchup against the Suns. Sabonis has been dealing with hamstring and ankle injuries of late, but the big man has been productive whenever he's stepped on the court. He's averaging 17.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in his last 13 appearances, with 10 double-doubles and one triple-double in that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Double-double against Nuggets
Sabonis closed with 13 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one block over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 124-116 loss to Denver. In a clash with Nikola Jokic, Sabonis was able to come away with his NBA-leading 59th double-double, staying one double-double ahead of his Nuggets rival. Sabonis has pulled down double-digit boards in nine of 10 games since returning from an ankle injury, averaging 18.6 points, 14.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 0.7 steals over that stretch while shooting 56.5 percent from the floor.... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Posts triple-double in win
Sabonis amassed 19 points (7-11 FG, 5-5 FT), 15 rebounds, 10 assists and one block over 35 minutes during Monday's 127-117 victory over Detroit. Sabonis racked up his 10th triple-double of the season in Monday's victory. With 67 games under his belt and three regular-season games remaining, Sabonis is on pace to return second-round value in nine-category formats with 19.2 points, 13.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 0.9 three-pointers.... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Teases triple-double in victory
Sabonis finished Sunday's 120-113 victory over the Cavaliers with 27 points (11-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 39 minutes. Although he turned the ball over a game-high seven times, Sabonis co-led the team in dimes and paced the club in boards while scoring an efficient 27 points against Cleveland's towering frontcourt. Sabonis is riding a six-game double-double streak, during which the All-Star big man has averaged 21.7 points on 58.4 percent shooting from the floor, 14.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 34.0 minutes.... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Sniffs triple-double again
Sabonis closed Friday's 125-102 win over the Hornets with 24 points (9-16 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 11 rebounds and seven assists across 27 minutes. Sabonis was dominant during this 27-minute cameo and delivered an impressive stat line, ending just three assists away from recording a triple-double and making his presence felt on both ends of the court. The star big man has finished three dimes away from a triple-double in his last two appearances, but at least he extended his double-double streak to five contests. He's currently leading the NBA in double-doubles with 57, ahead of Nikola Jokic (56), Ivica Zubac (54) and Karl-Anthony Towns (54).... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Cleared to suit up Friday
Sabonis (ankle) is listed as available for Friday's game against the Hornets. Sabonis was a late addition to the injury report due to right ankle soreness, though he'll suit up against Charlotte. The star big man has appeared in six consecutive contests following a three-game absence due to a sprained right ankle, averaging 17.2 points, 15.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists across 34.8 minutes per contest in that six-game span.... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Questionable for Friday
Sabonis is questionable for Friday's game versus Charlotte with right ankle soreness. Sabonis was a very late addition to the injury report, and that's typically a bad sign for fantasy managers. If Sabonis is held out for maintenance on his right ankle, the Kings could turn to Jonas Valanciunas against the Hornets.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Sniffs triple-double
Sabonis posted 18 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 16 rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 116-111 loss to the Wizards. Sabonis finished just three assists away from recording what would've been his first triple-double since March 14, when he recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists in a loss to the Suns. From a statistical perspective, Sabonis hasn't looked as dominant as last season, but he remains one of the best and most productive big men in the NBA. The statistical dropoff is noticeable, though, as he's averaging "only" 12.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game since the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Owns glass in double-double showing
Sabonis finished Monday's 111-109 loss to the Pacers with 25 points (11-19 FG, 3-6 FT), 16 rebounds and one steal in 40 minutes. Sabonis held things down in the paint Monday, leading all players in rebounds while finishing second among Kings players in scoring in an impressive double-double performance. Sabonis has hauled in 15 or more boards in 24 outings this season, recording at least 25 points and 15 rebounds on five occasions.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Nabs double-double in win Thursday
Sabonis closed Thursday's 128-107 victory over the Trail Blazers with 22 points (9-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 19 rebounds, six assists and one steal in 35 minutes. Sabonis stuffed the stat sheet once again, recording his 53rd outing with a double-double or better across 61 regular-season appearances. Additionally, the 28-year-old logged at least 20 points for the 30th time on the season. The star big man has made three appearances following a three-game absence due to a right ankle sprain, during which he has averaged 15.3 points, 16.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists across 35.0 minutes per contest.... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Grabs 17 boards in return
Sabonis (ankle) ended with 16 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 17 rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes during Monday's 113-95 loss to the Celtics. Following a three-game absence due to his sprained right ankle, Sabonis saw close to his usual workload Monday and seemed to be moving around fine. The Kings play again Tuesday versus the Thunder, and a maintenance day could be on the table for Sabonis. If that ends up being the case, Jonas Valanciunas would likely replace Sabonis in the starting five and split minutes at center with Trey Lyles. The Kings haven't yet suggested that they plan to rest Sabonis on Tuesday, however.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Will play Monday
Sabonis (ankle) is available for Monday's game against Boston, Sam Amick of The Athletic reports. Sabonis will return to action following a three-game absence due to the sprained right ankle. The star big man was expected to miss at least 10 days, but he'll make his return ahead of schedule after going through a full practice with the Kings on Sunday. However, Sabonis has played just 43 total minutes in three appearances during March, and he'll likely face restrictions against the Celtics.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Practices Sunday, iffy for Monday
Sabonis (ankle) was a full participant during Sunday's practice and will be listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Celtics, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports. Sabonis was initially expected to miss at least 10 days due to the sprained right ankle he suffered in a March 17 win over the Grizzlies, but he looks like he'll have a chance at returning to action in a week after taking part in practice. If the star big man remains sidelined for a fourth consecutive contest Monday, however, the Kings will turn to Trey Lyles and Jonas Valanciunas to shoulder the workload at center.... See More ... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: To miss at least 10 days
Sabonis will miss at least 10 days due to a sprained right ankle, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Sabonis suffered the injury during Monday's win over Memphis, which was just his second outing after a six-game absence streak due to a left hamstring injury. Jonas Valanciunas and Trey Lyles will likely shoulder the workload at center due to Sabonis being sidelined. The star big man has made only six appearances since the All-Star break, averaging 22.7 minutes per contest. Sabonis will likely face restrictions whenever he returns to game action.... See More ... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Ruled out with ankle sprain
Sabonis is out for Wednesday's game against Cleveland due to a right ankle sprain. After suffering the injury in Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Sabonis will need to miss at least one game. The star big man can be labeled day-to-day ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Bulls. Jonas Valanciunas should join the first unit Wednesday, and he's averaged 12.0 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 steals in 26.6 minutes over six games as a starter for the Kings.... Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Won't come back Monday
Sabonis sustained an apparent right ankle injury during the third quarter of Monday's game against the Grizzlies and will not return, Matt George of ABC 10 Sacramento reports. He'll finish the game with six points (3-4 FG, 0-1 FT), four assists and one rebound across 12 minutes. Sabonis exited to the locker room during the first quarter due to a laceration over his left eye, though he was able to return. However, the star big man seemingly rolled his right ankle in the third quarter and was unable to shoot the free throws before exiting to the locker room. Sabonis looked to be in a significant amount of pain as he limped off the floor, and he required assistance getting back to the locker room. Jonas Valanciunas and Trey Lyles will likely pick up the slack the rest of the way.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Will return vs. Memphis
Sabonis (laceration) will return to Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports. Sabonis exited to the locker room early in the first quarter due to a laceration over his left eye, though he is set to return after presumably getting stitched up. The star big man will likely be able to shoulder his usual workload the rest of the way.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Exits to locker room Monday
Sabonis sustained an apparent facial laceration and exited to the locker room in the first quarter of Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports. Sabonis left the court with a gash near his left eye, and he'll likely need to get stitched up before the club makes a decision on his status the rest of the way. If the star big man remains on the sideline, Jonas Valanciunas and Trey Lyles will likely see a bump in minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Fades injury report
Sabonis (hamstring) is not on the injury report ahead of Monday's game against Memphis. Sabonis had missed games in March due to a left hamstring strain, but he was able to return against the Suns on Friday. He was seen grabbing at his hamstring in the fourth quarter and looked to have aggravated the injury. However, his absence from the injury report indicates that he should be able to play against the Grizzlies on Monday. If Sabonis were to be ruled out or face a minutes restriction, Jonas Valanciunas would be in line to see an uptick in playing time.... See More ... See Less
