Game Recap
After losing to the Washington Football Team the last time they met, the Arizona Cardinals decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cardinals had enough points to win and then some against Washington on Sunday, taking their game 30-15. The success made it back-to-back wins for Arizona.
Arizona QB Kyler Murray did work as he passed for one TD and 286 yards on 38 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 67 yards. Murray's longest connection was to WR Andy Isabella for 54 yards in the second quarter. The Arizona defense stepped up as well to lay out QB Dwayne Haskins four times.
Special teams collected 12 points for the Cardinals. Kicker K Zane Gonzalez delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Washington's loss came about despite a quality game from WR Terry McLaurin, who caught seven passes for one TD and 125 yards.
Arizona's win brought them up to 2-0. The loss dropped Washington back to even at 1-1.
Arizona has the luxury of staying at home another week and will welcome the Detroit Lions at 4:25 p.m. ET Sept. 27 at State Farm Stadium. Unlike the Cardinals, Detroit will be limping in after taking a loss. Washington will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to FirstEnergy Stadium at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday.
