A week after picking up just their second win of the season, the Jaguars (2-9) were brought back to reality in a 34-18 loss at Buffalo (5-7).
Offense: C-
The optimism that came after two strong performances from the offense has waned after Sunday's loss. QB Chad Henne, who threw for a combined six TDs and over 600 total yards the previous two weeks, was back to looking more like what many expected from him this season. He only completed 43.9 percent of his passes for 208 yards, one TD and an INT. The Jags, who were without RBs Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) and Jalen Parmele (leg), were limited to just 50 yards on 18 attempts. Previous game's grade: A-
Defense: C
It could never find an answer for the Bills rushing attack. Buffalo leaned on its duo of RBs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller and piled up 232 yards on the ground. Buffalo QB Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't put up huge numbers (9 of 17 passing for 112 yards, 2 TDs, INT), but he made several timely throws in the red zone that hurt that Jaguars. LB Paul Posluszny (9 tackles, INT) continues to be one bright spot for Jacksonville. Previous game's grade: B
Special teams: B-
P Bryan Anger, who had three punts downed inside the 20, did a decent job of putting the Bills in bad field position. K Josh Scobee added a 36-yard FG, but it wasn't a great day overall for the coverage units. Buffalo had multiple long returns, including a 55-yard kickoff return by WR Marcus Easley. Previous game's grade: B+
Coaching: C-
The good feelings that came from last week's win over the Titans were quickly washed away on a damp day in Buffalo. It wasn't the kind of homecoming that coach Mike Mularkey, who coached the Bills in 2004-05, envisioned. It seemed that Jacksonville was poised to finish the season strong after two straight impressive performances, but it looked more like the team that lost seven straight on Sunday.
