The Raiders are scheduled to play only four teams in 2013 that made the playoffs this season. Of course, they have to play one of those teams, the Denver Broncos, twice.

And it's likely that the Giants, Cowboys, Steelers, Eagles and Jets bounce back a bit after missing the playoffs this year. In other words, the Raiders will have to wait and see if their scheduled is as inviting as it appears based on this season's results.

The Raiders unquestionably will have an easier travel schedule next year than they did in 2012. They'll play three games in the Eastern time zone next season -- including games in New Jersey against the Giants and Jets -- compared to five this season.

The Raiders lost all five of those games and have lost 10 straight in the Eastern time zone.

Of the Raiders' eight home opponents, only Denver and Washington qualified for the playoffs this season. The Raiders' road game against Dallas could be scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, which is typically a huge challenge for the visitor.
