Texans vs. Cardinals updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texans vs. Cardinals football game
3rd Quarter Report
Only one more quarter stands between the Texans and the win they were favored to collect coming into this afternoon. Sitting on a score of 21-16, they have looked like the better team, but there's still one more quarter to play.
If the Texans keep playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 5-4 in no time. On the other hand, the Cardinals will have to make due with a 2-8 record unless they turn things around (and fast).

1st Quarter Report
The last time the Cardinals and the Texans met, the game was decided by 26 points, but it sure doesn't look like the final score will be so lopsided this time. After one quarter, neither team has the match in the bag, but the Cardinals lead 10-7 over the Texans.
The Cardinals have yet to string together two consecutive wins, but this may be their chance. We'll see if they can pull it off.
Preview
The Houston Texans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Arizona Cardinals at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at NRG Stadium. The two teams worked hard to overcome the odds in their previous battles and are surely both feeling confident heading into this clash.
Houston was not the first on the board last Sunday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-27 win over the Bengals. The win made it back-to-back wins for Houston.
The Texans' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devin Singletary, who rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was C.J. Stroud, who threw for 356 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was the Texans' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Sheldon Rankins was the leader with three sacks.
Meanwhile, Arizona finally caught a break after six consecutive losses. They skirted past the Falcons 25-23. The victory was just what Arizona needed coming off of a 27-0 loss in their prior contest.
Kyler Murray looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 33 yards and a touchdown. Matt Prater did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in four field goals.
The Cardinals were down by one with only two minutes and 33 seconds left when they drove 70 yards for the winning score. Prater did the honors with a 23-yard field goal.
Houston now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Arizona, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
The two teams pleased both fans and bettors in their last games by winning and covering the spread. As for their next game, the Texans are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by four points. Bettors picking the Cardinals against the spread have some confidence (to put it mildly), as the team is sitting on a four-game streak of failing to cover when playing on the road.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Sunday's game: The Texans have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 372.6 total yards per game. It's a different story for the Cardinals , though, as they've been averaging only 295.9 per game. Will the Texans be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Cardinals flip the script? Check CBS Sports after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more NFL content.
