Titans vs. Chargers: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Titans vs. Chargers football game
The Tennessee Titans will be playing at home against the Los Angeles Chargers at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Nissan Stadium. The Titans have now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17th.
Tennessee had to hit the road for their first game and unfortunately the road hit them back. They and the Saints were almost perfectly matched up on Sunday, but the Titans suffered an agonizing 16-15 loss.
In almost any game, 34 points would all but guarantee a win. Not in this one. The Chargers fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 36-34. The matchup was as close as the oddsmakers predicted, but Los Angeles was the slight favorite coming in.
Despite their loss, the Chargers saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. RB Austin Ekeler, who rushed for 117 yards and punched in a rushing TD, was perhaps the best of all. QB Justin Herbert was another key contributor, throwing for 229 yards and a touchdown.
Even though they lost, the Chargers were unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards (they're ranked first in rushing yards after one game). They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as the Dolphins only rushed for 70.
The Titans will need to dig deep on Sunday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with a 9-8 record against the spread.
Tennessee couldn't quite finish off Los Angeles in their previous matchup last December and fell 17-14. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the game or check back on CBS Sports to find out.
