QB Christian Ponder was limited at Wednesday’s Vikings' practice with an injured elbow he incurred last Sunday against Green Bay. Coach Leslie Frazier said he had a bruised elbow and was experiencing some soreness, but he wasn’t concerned about it preventing Ponder from playing on Saturday.

“Christian has some soreness in his elbow, so we limited some of his reps [Wednesday],” Frazier said after practice. “But he’ll get some more work [Thursday].

Ponder was hit while throwing a pass last Sunday. The ball shot straight up into the air, was then batted around by RB Adrian Peterson and finally caught by WR Jarius Wright. There was confusion on the field about the catch (and whether or not the Packers could challenge the play), and Ponder was seen on the sideline taking some quick warm-up passes to test his elbow.

He returned to the game and finished it with no problem.

“I think he’ll be fine,” said Frazier. “He’s got to get some work [Thursday] and see how he progresses. It doesn’t seem like it would be something that would hinder come [Saturday]. But we need to ramp it up a little bit tomorrow, so we see where he is.”
