Cardinals' Dalvin Tomlinson: Finds new home in desert
Rotowire
The Cardinals signed Tomlinson to a two-year, $29 million contract Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The deal comes with $16 million guaranteed. Tomlinson was officially released by the Browns on Monday afternoon in order to designate him as a post-June 1 cut, and he's quickly back on his feet in the desert. Tomlinson was a 16-game starter for Cleveland last season and piled up 26 tackles (13 solo), including 3.0 sacks. He figures to slide right in as a starting defensive tackle for Arizona.

Dalvin Tomlinson: Designated as post-June 1 cut
Rotowire
The Browns released Tomlinson on Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
The move was expected, but the Browns had to wait for the new league year to start in order to designate the veteran defensive tackle as a post-June 1 cut. With the move, Cleveland clears more than $6.4 million in cap space but incurs $5.042 million in dead money. The 31-year-old started all 16 regular-season games in which he appeared last season, ringing up 26 tackles (13 solo), including 3.0 sacks. He's started all 125 games he's appeared in across eight seasons in the league and should be able to find work elsewhere.

Falcons' Mike Ford: Inking deal with Atlanta
Rotowire
The Falcons will sign Ford to a two-year, $4 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Ford played in all 17 of Cleveland's games in 2024, spending the vast majority of his time on the field on special teams. Now he's headed to Atlanta for the second time in his career and projects to again contribute primarily on special teams in 2025.

Browns' Devin Bush: Sticking around Cleveland
Rotowire
Bush and the Browns agreed on a one-year, $3.25 million contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Bush will remain in Cleveland after compiling 76 total tackles (45 solo), including 1.0 sacks, while also adding three passes defensed over 16 regular-season games with the team last season. The 26-year-old will look to maintain his level of production in 2025, likely operating as the team's top option at strong-side linebacker.

Browns' Dalvin Tomlinson: Set to be cut by Cleveland
Rotowire
The Browns informed Tomlinson (knee) on Monday that he will be released as a post-June 1 cut, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Although Tomlinson won't be released by the Browns until after June 1, Schefter relays that the veteran defensive tackle can officially sign with any team when the new league year starts Wednesday. Tomlinson played in 16 regular-season games for the Browns in 2024 and finished with 26 tackles (13 solo), including 3.0 sacks. The 2017 second-round pick should garner plenty of interest from teams looking to bolster their interior defensive line.

Browns' Myles Garrett: Remaining in CLE on record deal
Rotowire
Garrett and the Browns agreed Sunday on a contract extension that averages $40 million per year and includes $123.5 million in guaranteed salary, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Garrett officially requested a trade in early February, but Cleveland consistently stated that it was unwilling to entertain the request. The two sides now have agreed upon a massive deal that will make Garrett the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Per Schefter, the agreement includes a no-trade clause and will keep Garrett in Cleveland through the 2030 season. Garrett was selected by the Browns in the first round of the 2017 Draft and has built a potential Hall of Fame career since then, becoming the first player in franchise history to win a Defensive Player of the Year award (in 2023) and racking up double-digit sacks in each of the past seven regular seasons.

Browns' Myles Garrett: Both sides dug in on stances
Rotowire
The Browns remain unwilling to trade Garrett, with team owner Jimmy Haslam declining to speak to the pass rusher after his recent trade request, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The report adds that Garrett is "preparing to miss games" if he isn't traded, which isn't surprising given that the team won't even consider his trade request. Haslam's refusal to speak with Garrett, if accurate, only figures to make matters worse. This situation could get ugly, as Garrett's trade request seemingly is a product of frustration with the team/organization, not just an effort to get an extension or raise. He turned 29 in December and has two seasons remaining on a five-year, $125 million contract.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry said Tuesday that the team will not consider moving on from Garrett, who requested a trade in early February, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
"We respect and appreciate [Garrett]," Berry said, but clarified that "we're not interested in moving him." The Browns remain steadfast about wanting to retain the star edge rusher, with Berry having said in January that even an offer of two first-round picks wouldn't convince the team to budge. Still, Garrett said in his trade request that his top priority is to compete for a Super Bowl immediately, and Cleveland could be heading toward a rebuild. If both sides refuse to budge as the offseason progresses, it's possible Garrett will consider a holdout.

Browns' Juan Thornhill: In line to be released
Rotowire
Thornhill said Monday that the Browns have informed him he will be released at the start of the new league year in March, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Thornhill will be designated a post-June 1 cut, a move that will save Cleveland $3.2 million against the cap for 2025. The veteran safety has one year remaining on the three-year, $21 million contract he inked with the team back in 2023. Thornhill struggled with injuries during his Browns tenure, playing just 11 regular-season games in each of his two campaigns with the team. Down the stretch in 2024, Thornhill found himself splitting defensive reps relatively evenly with Ronnie Hickman.

Browns' Myles Garrett: Makes trade request official
Rotowire
Garrett officially announced Monday his request to be traded by the Browns, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Garrett, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, said in his announcement: "The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl." The 29-year-old's trade request comes with the context of the Browns seemingly entering a rebuilding phase, with Deshaun Watson (Achilles) uncertain for the 2025 season, and Cleveland in the mix to potentially reset at the quarterback position, holding the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. General manager Andrew Berry stated in late January that Garrett isn't on the trade block, specifying that even an offer of two first-round picks wouldn't move the needle, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, but the defensive end's superstar status gives him substantial leverage. Garrett has two years remaining on his current deal, with both seasons carrying roughly a $20 million cap hit.

Browns' Cameron Thomas: Finds groove in Cleveland
Rotowire
Thomas tallied 11 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, over nine games with the Chiefs and Browns in 2024.
Thomas was traded from the Cardinals to the Chiefs right before the start of the regular season, but his time in Kansas City was brief. He played just six defensive snaps across four games before being waived in late November. The Browns claimed him one day after being waived, and he impressed as a reserve defensive lineman down the stretch, recording 11 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, in five games. The 25-year-old edge rusher remains under contract through 2025 and is expected to stay in Cleveland. Thomas flashed potential over his 61 defensive snaps with the Browns late in the season, so he could serve as a reliable reserve defensive end during the team's 2025 campaign.

Browns' Mike Ford: Underwhelms in Cleveland
Rotowire
Ford (forearm) recorded 13 total tackles across 17 games in 2024.
Ford played a reserve role for the Browns' defense this season, making no starts over his 17 appearances. The veteran cornerback logged just 56 defensive snaps compared to his 150 in 2023, which explains the significant drop in his tackle total from 28 to 13 in 2024. He's now set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason after signing a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the Browns last offseason. If Ford stays in Cleveland for 2025, he's expected to remain a depth piece in the team's secondary while also contributing on special teams.

Browns' Sam Kamara: Career year in 2024
Rotowire
Kamara accumulated 15 total tackles over 11 games in 2024.
The fourth-year pro from Stony Brook had the most productive season of his career in 2024, setting new career highs in total tackles, games played and defensive snaps (262). His lone start came in Cleveland's Week 18 loss to the Ravens, when he recorded six total tackles while playing 87 percent of the team's defensive snaps. Kamara, who's under contract through the 2025 season, is expected to remain one of the Browns' top reserve defensive linemen next year.

Browns' Maurice Hurst: Injuries derail 2024 campaign
Rotowire
Hurst (ankle) recorded 16 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, over eight games in 2024.
The 29-year-old defensive tackle finished Cleveland's season on injured reserve, missing nine games due to an ankle injury. This appears to be a recurring theme for Hurst, who has now been sidelined for 45 regular-season games over the past four seasons in the NFL. Hurst played over 40 percent of the Browns' defensive snaps in three games this year, recording seven total tackles in those contests. He's now set to be an unrestricted free agent after signing a one-year, $1.8 million deal with Cleveland last offseason. Given his continued injury struggles, Hurst is likely to sign another one-year prove-it contract this offseason after missing more than half his team's games in 2024.

Browns' Cameron Mitchell: Suits up for all 17 games in 2024
Rotowire
Mitchell tallied 24 tackles (16 solo) and two passes defensed across 17 regular-season appearances with the Browns in 2024.
Mitchell began the year in a rotational role on defense, but he was thrust into a more notable gig down the stretch due to the placement of Greg Newsome (hamstring) on IR in Week 15. The 2023 fifth-round pick will spend the offseason working to progress in his development, though he figures to return to a reserve role for the 2025 campaign.

Browns' Isaiah McGuire: Steps up in Year 2
Rotowire
McGuire racked up 36 tackles (18 solo), including 2.5 sacks, plus three forced fumbles across 16 regular-season appearances with the Browns in 2024.
McGuire ramped up his involvement on defense Year 2, managing to close out the campaign as a clear starter. The 2023 fourth-round pick suited up for just four games as a rookie, but he's now demonstrated a legitimate ability to contribute on defense. He'll spend the offseason looking to further his development in Cleveland's scheme.

Browns' Rodney McLeod: Plays all 17 games in 2024
Rotowire
McLeod racked up 39 tackles (28 solo), five passes defensed, one defensive touchdown and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season appearances with the Browns in 2024.
McLeod saw increased playing time during the 2024 campaign due to injuries elsewhere in Cleveland's secondary, but the 34-year-old veteran looked more comfortable in a rotational role. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but a reunion with the Browns may not be out of the question.

Browns' Ronnie Hickman: Makes 45 stops in 2024
Rotowire
Hickman tallied 45 tackles (26 solo), one pass breakup and one fumble recovery across 14 regular-season appearances with the Browns in 2024.
Hickman missed three games due to injury but overall impressed in Year 2, increasing his production across the board compared to his rookie season. During the offseason, it's possible he gets a chance to truly compete with Juan Thornhill and/or Grant Delpit for a starting gig at safety. Hickman is entering the final year of his contract with the Browns, though he'll be a restricted free agent in 2026.

Browns' Juan Thornhill: Suits up for 11 games in 2024
Rotowire
Thornhill racked up 49 tackles (31 solo) and three passes defensed across 11 regular-season appearances with the Browns in 2024.
Thornhill has been limited to 11 regular-season games in both of his first two seasons with the Browns after having logged 16 or more appearances in all four of his years with the Chiefs from 2019-22. He remains under contract with Cleveland for one more year, but at this point even if healthy, it's not a guarantee that the experienced safety will regain the playmaking ability that previously allowed him to rank as a fringe fantasy asset in IDP formats.

Browns' Myles Garrett: Finishes historic season
Rotowire
Garrett recorded two tackles, including one for a loss, in Week 18's loss to the Ravens.
Garrett finished the regular season with 47 tackles, including 14.0 sacks, over 17 games played. He also set an NFL record, becoming the first player to achieve at least 14.0 sacks in four consecutive seasons. With two years left on his contract, Garrett is slated to return to Cleveland in 2025; however, the defensive end sent a message to the organization in December that he doesn't want to endure another rebuild. He hasn't requested a trade yet, but Garrett may want to hear the team's plans to come back from its 3-14 season before considering his next step.
