Heath (illness) was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Amie Just of NOLA.com reports.
Heath will end up missing just one game after testing positive for the virus on Dec. 23. The backup safety sees most of his playing time on special teams.

Heath signed a deal to join the Saints' active roster Tuesday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

The veteran safety will become a free agent after recording 37 tackles (28 solo), four passes defensed and three interceptions across 13 games last season. Heath was also named AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 10. If a team is looking to add a veteran presence to their secondary, he may not be unemployed for long.

Heath is eligible to practice this week and could return for the season finale against the Broncos. Coming off a concussion, the Raiders may exercise caution for a game with no playoff implications. Health has averaged 29.5 snaps on defense per game this year, recording 35 tackles, three pass breakups and three interceptions.

The 29-year-old was already ruled out for Sunday's matchup with the Colts, but he'll now be sidelined for at least the next three games. Heath started at free safety over Erik Harris, who ended up playing just four snaps on defense. It's unclear if this will become the norm for Las Vegas. However, it certainly worked out well for Health, who generated a season high in tackles after recording just 17 stops through the first 10 games.

Heath once again only filled a rotational role in Las Vegas' secondary (48 percent of snaps) Sunday, but he made the most of his opportunities en route to being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes. The 29-year-old now has three interceptions on the year, but he'll be difficult to trust for IDP purposes against the Chiefs in Week 11 while playing a part-time role.
