Top Tarell Basham News

  • Bengals' Tarell Basham: Heading to Cincy

The Bengals signed Basham on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Basham is now set to join the Bengals in 2023 where he'll ultimately pursue his ninth year in the NFL. The 29-year-old linebacker made seven appearances this past season primarily as a rotational defensive piece for the Cowboys (two games) and Titans (five games), and he'll presumably compete for pass-rushing snaps with Cameron Sample, Jeff Gunter and Owen Carney.

  • Titans' Tarell Basham: Finds new home

Basham signed with the Titans on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Basham was waived by the Cowboys on Tuesday after appearing in two games for the franchise this season. The veteran missed multiple weeks due to being on IR with a thigh injury, but he is now healthy and ready to compete. His addition should add pass-rush depth on the edges for Tennessee.

  • Tarell Basham: Done in Dallas

The Cowboys waived Basham on Tuesday, Nick Eatman of the team's official site reports.

The Cowboys had a plethora of pass-rushing defensive ends, but Basham was the one who got the short end of the stick Tuesday. The 28-year-old has spent most of the campaign thus far on injured reserve due to a thigh injury, but he'll now search elsewhere to continue his playing career.

  • Cowboys' Tarell Basham: Out for Thursday

Basham (illness) is inactive against the Giants on Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Basham has spent most the season on IR due to a thigh injury, and he'll now miss another game due to an illness. Due to his limited time on the field this season, it's unlikely his absence will impact the teams depth on the defensive line much.

  • Cowboys' Tarell Basham: Activated from IR

Basham (thigh) was activated off injured reserve Wednesday, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

After returning to practice Oct. 20, Basham will be back on the field for Sunday's matchup with the Packers. The 28-year-old will be active for the first time since sustaining a thigh injury in the Cowboys' Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers. Basham will operate as an additional depth option behind the likes of DeMarcus Lawrence and Dorance Armstrong on the defensive line.

  • Cowboys' Tarell Basham: Designated to return from IR

Basham (thigh) was designated to return from injured reserve Thursday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Basham was placed on IR after suffering a thigh injury during the Cowboys' season opener versus Tampa Bay, causing him to miss each of the team's last five games. Now, the 28-year-old has been designated to return Thursday, opening up a 21-day window for him to practice and be restored to the active roster. Basham's first chance to play will come Sunday against the Lions.

  • Cowboys' Tarell Basham: Lands on IR

The Cowboys placed Basham (thigh) on injured reserve Saturday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Basham will be forced to miss at least four games after landing on injured reserve. In his absence, Chauncey Golston and 2022 second-rounder Sam Williams are candidates for increased roles behind DeMarcus Lawrence and Dorance Armstrong.

  • Cowboys' Tarell Basham: Hopes to return in 1-2 weeks

Basham (thigh) will "hopefully [be] back in 1-2 weeks" from his injury, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

There's still no concrete timetable for his return, but it seems that Basham is in real danger of missing Dallas' Week 2 matchup versus Cincinnati. Until he's back to full health, Chauncey Golston and 2022 second-rounder Sam Williams are candidates to step up in his absence.

  • Cowboys' Tarell Basham: Suffers thigh injury

Basham is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Buccaneers due to a thigh injury, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Basham sustained his injury in the fourth quarter and had to be helped off the field. If he's kept off the field for the final few minutes of Sunday's matchup, it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return for Sunday's Week 2 tilt against Cincinnati.
