The Saints waived McClesky on Sunday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
McCleskey will look for a new team to make his professional debut with after failing to find the field in his lone season with the Saints. The 2021 undrafted free agent is entering his age-25 season and will have a chance to be claimed on waivers by interested teams.

The Saints signed McCleskey to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
The wide receiver worked out for the Saints in November but failed to secure a contract. McCleskey will now join the team ahead of the 2022 season, still in search of his NFL debut.

McCleskey suffered a hamstring injury Wednesday that was believed to be minor, but the issue is apparently more serious than the team had initially expected. The 24-year-old had been performing well early in camp before he sustained the injury.

Falcons' Jalen McCleskey: Lands in Atlanta
McCleskey has signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
After racking up 17 touchdowns and more than 1,800 yards during four seasons as a member of Oklahoma State, McCleskey moved on to Tulane for a redshirt senior season in 2019, though his production was well below the level he established during 2016 and 2017 as a starter for the Cowboys. McCleskey only pulled in 37 balls during his stint with the Green Wave, but he did establish an impressive 15.7 yard-per-catch average. He has big-time potential to produce given that he's sixth all-time in Oklahoma State history in catches (167) with only 42 games played, so it will be interesting to see what McCleskey picks up working alongside Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley in Atlanta.
