Tom was signed by Washington on Friday in conjunction with the release of J.C. Hassenauer, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The 6-foot-2 offensive lineman will jump into a depth role at center for the Commanders as they move on from Hassenauer. Tom was with the Eagles and Chargers organizations during the 2023 campaign and is approaching his eighth NFL season.

Tom agreed to a contract with the Saints on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Tom spent the 2019 season on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, and the Saints didn't tender him a contract as a restricted free agent in March. The 24-year-old will likely be competing for a depth role on the interior offensive line in training camp.
