  • Andre Patton: Goes to waivers

The Eagles waived Patton on Monday, Glenn Erby of USA Today reports.

After playing 13 games for the Chargers in 2019, Patton bounced around on practice squads in 2020. The 27-year-old could be headed for a similar fate this year.

  • Eagles' Andre Patton: Lands in Philadelphia

The Eagles signed Patton to a contract Friday, Martin Frank of the Delaware News Journal reports.

Patton, whose NFL career began as a UDFA with the Chargers back in 2017, will get a chance to compete for a depth role in Philadelphia's wide receiver room. The only game action of Patton's career came in 2019, when he recorded six catches for 56 yards across 13 appearances.

  • Andre Patton: Cut from practice squad

Patton was released from the Dolphins' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

The Rutgers product signed on with Miami slightly under a month ago, with his tenure as a Dolphin yielding no game appearances. Patton suited up 13 times with the Chargers last year, making five starts and recording six receptions for 56 yards.

  • Andre Patton: Back on practice squad

Patton signed with the Dolphins' practice squad Tuesday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

The Dolphins cut Patton from the practice squad Monday but quickly re-signed him. The 26-year-old wide receiver has yet to play in a game this season. Patton did play 13 games with the Chargers in 2019; he was targeted 17 times and caught six passes for 56 yards.

  • Andre Patton: Joining Dolphins' practice squad

Patton signed to the Dolphins' practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Patton recorded six receptions for 56 yards across 13 games with the Chargers last season but was surprisingly cut by the team in the offseason. He'll now join Miami after a short stint with Cardinals and will give the Dolphins some extra depth at wideout.

  • Andre Patton: Released from practice squad

The Cardinals cut Patton from the practice squad Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Patton landed on the practice squad to start the season, and he was never elevated to the active roster. The 26-year-old wide receiver will seek a fresh start elsewhere. He last played for the Chargers in 2019, catching six of 17 passes for 56 yards.

  • Andre Patton: Reverts to practice squad

Patton cleared waivers Sunday and signed with the Cardinals' practice squad, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Patton garnered a consistent snap count with the Chargers last season but was waived by the team to begin training camp. He couldn't make the 53-man roster in Arizona, either, so he'll join A.J. Richardson and JoJo Ward as the team's practice squad receivers.

  • Andre Patton: Falls short in Arizona

The Cardinals waived Patton on Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Patton averaged 39.5 snaps over 13 games last season with the Chargers, but he didn't produce much with just six receptions for 56 yards on 17 targets. He was a long shot with Arizona due to its deep receiver room, so he'll seek a depth role elsewhere.

  • Cardinals' Andre Patton: Signs with Arizona

Patton signed a contract with the Cardinals on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old hauled in six receptions for 56 yards in 13 games with the Chargers last season. He'll boost the Cardinals' depth at wideout, but he's decidedly behind the team's top trio of DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald. With Andy Isabella, Hakeem Butler, Trent Sherfield and KeeSean Johnson also in the mix, Patton will need to impress in training camp practices in order to stick around.

  • Andre Patton: Meets with Cards

Patton visited with the Cardinals on Tuesday, freelance NFL writer Howard Balzer reports.

Arizona uses primarily three-wide sets, but those starting spots are filled with stalwarts DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald. After that trio, the group is inexperienced, so Patton may get a chance to show what he can do in the Cards' offense.

  • Andre Patton: Waived by Chargers

Patton was waived by the Chargers on Saturday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

It's a rather shocking transaction considering many believed Patton to be the frontrunner for the No. 3 WR spot behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. The move opens the door for 2020 fifth-round pick Joe Reed to immediately compete for the starting spot, though Popper notes third-year pro Jalen Guyton could fill the speed-stretching role that Travis Benjamin operated in last year.

  • Chargers' Andre Patton: Absent from final box score

Patton finished the 2019 season with six catches for 56 yards across 13 games.

It's hardly a pivotal final stat line, but with Travis Benjamin (quad) all but assumed to be an offseason cap casualty, Patton figures to be the de-facto No. 3 receiver behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams next year. A two-year practice squad member, Patton still has a ways to go in order to be a relevant fantasy option, but that could change should the Chargers move away from quarterback Philip Rivers, and an offensive funnel that essentially featured just five players --- Allen, Williams, Melvin Gordon, Austin Ekeler and Hunter Henry --- the entire season.

  • Chargers' Andre Patton: Makes two receptions

Patton caught both of his targets for 18 yards in the 24-17 loss Sunday to the Raiders.

Patton now has four receptions in the last three games, although it's a far cry away from the sheer target dominance of Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, Mike Williams and Hunter Henry, who once again commanded the attention of quarterback Philip Rivers. Patton's offensive snaps continue to rise, but a lack of consistent opportunities makes Patton an unusable fantasy option.

  • Chargers' Andre Patton: Makes reception

Patton snared his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 39-10 debacle against the Vikings.

Patton made just his second reception since Week 4 despite playing in at least 50 percent of the team's offensive snaps throughout the last seven weeks. The narrow receiving tree doesn't figure to expand significantly if the Chargers ultimately opt to bench their longtime veteran quarterback, Philip Rivers, for a backup option such as Tyrod Taylor.

  • Chargers' Andre Patton: Yet another catch-less day

Patton did not record a catch in the 45-10 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Despite yet another game playing more than 50 percent of the offensive snaps, Patton was kept out of the box score yet again, with the Week 13 loss against the Broncos marking the only time since taking over as the No. 3 receiver that Patton has recorded a single catch in a game. Considering the Chargers' small target tree, it's safe to say Patton is hardly an attractive fantasy option, even as a potential handcuff to Keenan Allen or Mike Williams.

  • Chargers' Andre Patton: Doesn't reel in deep catch

Patton failed to catch his only target in Monday's 24-17 loss to the Chiefs.

Once again, Patton was the target of a desperate heave from quarterback Philip Rivers, only for the Chiefs' safety to step in front of the pass at the last second. Geremy Davis (hamstring) missed his third consecutive game, which aided in Patton's 74 percent snap share, but with the Chargers operating such a small target tree, it's unlikely the 25-year-old will be a fantasy relevant asset unless multiple injuries occur to player's above him.

  • Chargers' Andre Patton: Unable to record catch

Patton failed to reel in any of his four targets in the 26-24 loss Thursday to the Raiders.

While Patton failed to register a single catch in the box score for the sixth consecutive game, Thursday's numbers were certainly misleading. The 25-year-old was the primary target on two deep balls from Philip Rivers, but the veteran quarterback overthrew his intended target on both occasions. Patton's jump in targets came in large part due to the absence of Geremy Davis (hamstring), who was ruled out prior to the game, but it's interesting to see Patton warrant any sort of deep looks, particularly with Travis Benjamin (quadriceps) on injured reserve.
