Seguin scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 3. Seguin converted on a feed from Mason Marchment to give the Stars the win and 2-1 series lead at 5:31 of overtime. He's picked up three points over four contests since returning from a long-term hip injury, and he's looked just fine playing on the Stars' second line. Seguin has added six shots on net, two hits and an even plus-minus rating over three playoff outings.... See More ... See Less

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Scores power-play goal
Seguin scored a power-play goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 2. Seguin evened things up for the Stars late in the first period with a slap shot that went past Mackenzie Blackwood at the 19:06 mark. This was the veteran forward's first goal in the current playoff run, and the Stars will probably rely on his experience during this postseason. He missed most of the regular season while recovering from a hip surgery that sidelined him for 58 games, but Seguin still posted 21 points, 46 shots on net and a plus-15 rating over 20 regular-season outings.... Stars' Tyler Seguin: Earns assist in return
Seguin recorded an assist, three shots on goal and two PIM in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Predators. Seguin missed 58 games due to a hip surgery. He saw 14:48 of ice time in his return, compared to an average of 16:13 prior to the injury. The 33-year-old will be called on for top-six usage in the playoffs, though he may have his minutes managed if he's playing at less than 100 percent. Still, his presence in the lineup should give the Stars a boost. He earned 21 points, 46 shots on net and a plus-15 rating over 20 regular-season outings.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Taken off IR
Seguin (hip) was activated off long-term injured reserve ahead of Wednesday's matchup with Nashville, per the NHL media site. Seguin was technically classified as a game-time decision by head coach Pete DeBoer, but this move clears the way for the veteran forward to suit up for the first time since Dec. 1 versus Winnipeg. Even with his return to the lineup, Seguin may have to settle for a bottom-six role given his lengthy injury absence.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Game-time decision against Preds
Seguin (hip) will be a game-time call for Wednesday's matchup with Nashville, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports. In order to suit up Wednesday, Seguin will need to be activated off long-term injured reserve, so that figures to be the final determination on whether he suits up versus the Predators. The 33-year-old forward has been out of action since Dec. 1 against the Jets due to his hip problem, a stretch of 58 games on the shelf. Once given the all-clear, Seguin figures to fill a middle-six role that will likely see Oskar Back dropped from the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Getting closer to return
Seguin (hip) is "really close" to playing, according to head coach Pete DeBoer, but hasn't been fully cleared for contact, Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest reports Tuesday. Seguin has just five games remaining in the regular season if he wants to get in a tune-up or two ahead of the playoffs. The veteran forward will no doubt have some rust to shake off after being sidelined for the Stars' last 54 games dating back to Dec. 1 versus the Jets. At this point, Seguin may be hard-pressed to serve in anything more than a bottom-six role once given the all-clear and may have to play limited minutes at first, given his extended absence.... Stars' Tyler Seguin: Making progress in recovery
Head coach Peter DeBoer relayed that Seguin (hip) is making progress in his recovery and is on track to be back at some point during the regular season or playoffs, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports Tuesday. Seguin will continue to work his way back to full strength while Dallas battles for playoff positioning in a contentious Central Division race. Once he's ready to return, he could bump Mikael Granlund down to a third-line role -- Seguin has phenomenal chemistry with Mason Marchment and Matt Duchene, Granlund's current linemates. In 19 appearances before sustaining his injury, Seguin provided nine goals, 20 points and a plus-14 rating.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Resumes skating
Seguin (hip) has started skating back in Texas, according to Sean Shapiro of DLLS Sports on Tuesday. Seguin last suited up against the Jets on Dec. 1 -- the right-shot forward underwent surgery Dec. 5 for a left-side femoral acetabular impingement and hip labrum. General manager Jim Nill did not have a set timeline for Seguin's return. Before getting injured, Seguin was playing at a high level, having recorded nine goals, 20 points and a plus-14 rating across 19 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Placed on LTIR
The Stars put Seguin (leg/hip) on long-term injured reserve Saturday, according to Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine. Seguin could return in early April if everything works out, as he was deemed to be out of action for 4-6 months after his surgery Dec. 5. The Stars will gain valuable salary relief, as Nils Lundkvist had season-ending shoulder surgery and was also placed on long-term injured reserve Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Set for long-term absence
Seguin will be out of action for 4-6 months when he undergoes surgery Thursday for a left-side femoral acetabular impingement and hip labrum, per Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday. Even on the shortest end of his timeframe, Seguin at best would return for the very last games of the regular season, but fantasy managers can probably bank on him being shut down until at least the playoffs, if not longer. Given that timeline, the veteran forward will almost certainly be placed on long-term injured reserve in the coming days to give the Stars some relief from his $9.85 million cap hit. Despite playing through his injury, Seguin still managed to rack up 20 points in 19 appearances this season, including a trio of power-play goals.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Lands on IR
Seguin (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday. The move is retroactive to Dec. 1, meaning Seguin will miss at least the next four games, starting with Monday's matchup versus Utah. The 32-year-old forward has been managing a lower-body issue this season, and it will keep him on the shelf for the next little while, per Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars. Seguin has nine goals, 20 points and 43 shots on net through 19 appearances this season. Logan Stankoven (lower body) will replace Seguin in Monday's lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Two more points Friday
Seguin scored a power-play goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche. Seguin has a pair of multi-point efforts over his last three games. His tally Friday was his first power-play point since Nov. 13. The 32-year-old forward is up to nine goals, 20 points (three on the power play), 43 shots on net and a plus-12 rating over 18 appearances. Seguin is likely to miss one of the next two games (Sunday versus Winnipeg or Monday at Utah) due to a lingering lower-body injury, but that would be the only expected absence for the forward over the next six weeks, so fantasy managers should be comfortable rolling him out there outside of back-to-back situations.... Stars' Tyler Seguin: Two-point effort in loss
Seguin produced a goal and an assist in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Hurricanes. The 32-year-old opened the scoring just 18 seconds into the game after Mason Marchment's attempted between-the-legs shot slipped off his stick and turned into an unintentional pass. Seguin has gotten onto the scoresheet in six of the last seven games, and through 16 appearances this season, he's racked up an impressive eight goals and 18 points as he turns back the clock. He has scored more than 20 goals in each of the last three seasons, but Seguin hasn't come close to a point-a-game pace since 2018-19.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Pockets assist Saturday
Seguin notched an assist and five shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Wild. Seguin has two goals and three helpers over his last five contests. The 32-year-old forward continues to impress in a second-line role this season, racking up 14 points over 12 appearances. He's added 30 shots on net and a plus-11 rating. The Stars' offense can be dynamic, but it's the trio of Seguin, Mason Marchment and Matt Duchene that's led the charge recently.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Crosses 800-point mark in career
Seguin provided two assists and six shots on goal in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Bruins. Seguin helped out on the first and last goals in the game. His first assist Thursday was the 800th point of his career, a milestone he achieved against the team that drafted him second overall in 2010. He's picked up two goals and two assists over his last four games and now has 13 points, 25 shots on net and a plus-10 rating over 11 appearances this season. Seguin continues to be strong in a second-line role alongside Matt Duchene and Mason Marchment.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Finds twine on power play
Seguin scored a power-play goal on two shots in Monday's 7-1 win over the Penguins. Seguin has scored in two of the last three games. The 32-year-old forward is up to seven goals, 11 points, 19 shots on net and a plus-9 rating over 10 outings as part of the Stars' second line, which has somewhat frequently looked like the best trio for the team. While he's managing a lower-body injury that could keep him out of games during back-to-back sets, Seguin looks like a must-play option when he's able to suit up.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Scores game-winner Thursday
Seguin scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. Seguin's goal midway through the second period ended up being the game-winner. The 32-year-old was hampered by a lower-body injury during the Stars' trip to Finland, with the injury particularly flaring up in the second half of back-to-back sets. As such, don't expect Seguin to play in every game the rest of the way, though he should have a good stretch of availability ahead as long as the issue doesn't get worse -- the Stars' next back-to-back is at the start of December, but it's the only one they have for the remainder of the calendar year. Through eight outings, Seguin has produced six goals, four assists, 14 shots on net and a plus-9 rating while filling a second-line role when healthy enough to play.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Expected to play Thursday
Seguin (lower body) is expected to play Thursday against Chicago, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports. Seguin was unavailable Saturday against the Panthers due to a lower-body injury, and he may be dealing with the lingering issue for most of the year. However, he practiced Tuesday and should be able to return to game action Thursday. Seguin's injury will likely impact his availability in back-to-back sets, which the Stars don't play in until the start of December. While the team's medical staff will likely continue to monitor Seguin's health, it's encouraging that he'll be able to play through his ailment for now.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Practices Tuesday
Seguin (lower body) practiced Tuesday but may need to play through a lingering injury for most of the season, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports. Seguin could be ready to return as early as Thursday versus Chicago after missing Saturday's 4-2 loss to Florida. He has five goals, nine points and 11 shots on net through seven outings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Tyler Seguin: Ruled out Saturday
Seguin (lower body) won't play Saturday against the Panthers, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports. Seguin will miss Saturday's contest after scoring his fifth goal of the year in Friday's 6-4 loss to Florida. Oskar Back will enter the lineup in Seguin's absence, while Mavrik Bourque moves into the top six. The Stars announced Seguin is day-to-day.... See More ... See Less
