  • Tobias Lindberg: Headed overseas

Lindberg inked a one-year contract with Swedish club IK Oskarshamn on Wednesday.

Lindberg played for three different AHL teams last season, in which he notched five goals and 11 helpers in 61 games. Without a clear path to the NHL, the 24-year-old will return to his native Sweden for the 2019-20 campaign. If he can impress overseas, the winger could still get another shot, though this is likely his last chance to earn his way back to North America.

  • Tobias Lindberg: Not qualified by team

Lindberg -- who was acquired by the Golden Knights as part of the Mark Stone deal -- was not given a qualifying offer by the team, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Lindberg played for three different teams in the minors this season, logging a total of 61 games in which he tallied five goals and 11 helpers. Where the 23-year-old lands remains to be seen, but a return to the Swedish league certainly isn't out of the question.

  • Senators' Tobias Lindberg: Dealt to Ottawa

The Penguins traded Lindberg and Stefan Elliott to the Senators in exchange for Ben Sexton and Macoy Erkamps on Wednesday.

Lindberg, who was originally selected by the Senators in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, is nothing more than an organizational depth option at this stage in his career. He'll report to AHL Belleville, where he'll almost certainly remain for the rest of the season.

  • Penguins' Tobias Lindberg: Signs two-way deal with Pittsburgh

Lindberg inked a one-year, two-way extension for $650,000 with the Penguins, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Lindberg was acquired from Vegas as part of the three-team deal that also brought Derick Brassard to Pittsburgh. The 22-year-old forward has only appeared in six career NHL games, but scored 10 goals and 23 points in 64 games at the AHL level last season. The Penguins should retain a strong group of forwards heading into next season, so Lindberg will likely head to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to start the 2018-19 campaign.

  • Penguins' Tobias Lindberg: Dealt to Pittsburgh in huge trade

Lindberg was acquired by the Penguins in a three-team trade with the Senators and Golden Knights on Friday.

The highlight of this trade involved forward Derick Brassard moving from Ottawa to Pittsburgh, but it also featured five other players and four draft picks between the Penguins, Senators and Golden Knights. Lindberg is a Swedish prospect with a big frame at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds. He'd spent 48 games with AHL Chicago while in the Vegas organization, tacking on eight goals and 10 assists. We're assuming that he'll start out with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a chance to make an NHL impact down the road.

  • Golden Knights' Tobias Lindberg: Brought in via trade

Lindberg was acquired from the Maple Leafs -- along with a 2018 sixth-round pick -- in exchange for Calvin Pickard on Friday.

Lindberg had a decent campaign with AHL Toronto last season, as he notched six goals and 10 helpers in 44 outings. It's a far cry, however, from the 78 points in 67 games the winger racked up in his lone OHL campaign. The Golden Knights are attempting to build depth in their system from the ground up and are set in goal with netminders Oscar Dansk and Dylan Ferguson already under contract, so it makes sense they switched Pickard for Lindberg, a forward.

  • Maple Leafs' Tobias Lindberg: Called up to parent club Thursday

Lindberg was recalled from AHL Toronto on an emergency basis Thursday.

Toronto did some major roster shuffling Thursday, with Lindberg among eight players moving about the organizational ranks. The 20-year-old winger was acquired by the Buds in February as part of the deal that sent Dion Phaneuf to Ottawa. He's yet to make his NHL debut.

  • Maple Leafs' Tobias Lindberg: Dealt to Maple Leafs

Lindberg was traded by the Senators to the Leafs on Tuesday in a nine-player trade, with Dion Phaneuf among the players coming back.

Lindberg was Ottawa's fourth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft. The 20-year-old winger has played well in his rookie campaign with AHL Binghamton this season, notching 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in 34 games. He'll likely report to AHL Toronto and finish the 2015-16 season in the minors, but could get an opportunity to compete for an Opening Night roster spot in next year's training camp. Phaneuf was the primary component of Tuesday's blockbuster deal, with the Senators also picking up Cody Donaghey, Matt Frattin, Casey Bailey, and Ryan Rupert in the trade. Along with Lindberg, the Maple Leafs acquired Milan Michalek, Jared Cowen, Colin Greening, and Ottawa's second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft in Tuesday's deal.
