Kuznetsov has three goals and 14 points in 49 appearances with AHL Calgary in 2024-25. He might draw into the lineup Sunday versus San Jose if Kevin Bahl (upper body) and Joel Hanley (personal) are unavailable.

Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Pens one-year pact
Kuznetsov secured a one-year, two-way contract with Calgary on Monday.
Kuznetsov made his NHL debut this past season but it was the only game he appeared in for the Flames. With AHL Calgary last year, the Russian blueliner didn't offer much in the way of fantasy upside considering he managed just five goals and eight helpers in 63 regular-season games. While Kuznetsov could see a handful of NHL contests, he is unlikely to be a full-time option this year, making him a non-factor in redraft formats as well as a weak choice for keeper and dynasty leagues.

Kuznetsov's demotion to the minors appears to have been nothing more than a paper transaction with the blueliner set to make his NHL debut against Ottawa on Tuesday, per Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun. In the minors this season, the 21-year-old defenseman has generated two goals and five helpers in 31 contests, so fantasy players probably shouldn't be banking on an offensive outburst from the youngster.
