  • Artyom Zagidulin: Becomes free agent

Zagidulin was not qualified by the Flames on Monday and will become a free agent. Zagidulin made his NHL debut last season, allowing two goals on 11 shots in a relief appearance. The 25-year-old also registered a .911 save percentage in six games with AHL Stockton after posting an .898 mark in 30 AHL appearances the previous season.

  • Flames' Artyom Zagidulin: Promoted to taxi squad

Zagidulin was added to the taxi squad Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. The 25-year-old netminder made his NHL debut in February, allowing two goals on 11 shots in relief. The Flames traded David Rittich to Toronto on Sunday, so Zagidulin will be the No. 3 goaltender and spend most of his time on the taxi squad. He owns a .911 save percentage and 2.86 GAA in six AHL games this season.

  • Flames' Artyom Zagidulin: Returning to minors

  • Flames' Artyom Zagidulin: Shuffles to minors

Zagidulin was sent down to AHL Stockton on Thursday. Zagidulin made his NHL debut while with the parent club, stopping nine of 11 shots in a relief appearance versus the Senators. The Russian netminder should take on a workhorse role with the Heat, but he's probably not going to return to the Flames' active roster unless Jacob Markstrom (upper body) or David Rittich suffer an injury. In a corresponding move, Markstrom was activated from injured reserve Thursday.

  • Flames' Artyom Zagidulin: Relief appearance in NHL debut

Zagidulin stopped nine of 11 shots in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Senators. Zagidulin relieved David Rittich just over seven minutes into the second period with the Flames already trailing 4-1. He allowed a pair of goals by Ottawa's Colin White in the second period, the first of which he'd likely want to have back. White released a soft shot at the bottom of the circle -- his follow through was partially impeded by the stick of Noah Hanifin -- but the puck still somehow snuck past Zagidulin. It was the first NHL appearance for the 25-year-old netminder, who was elevated from the taxi squad earlier in the week.

  • Flames' Artyom Zagidulin: Shifts to active roster

Zagidulin was promoted from the taxi squad ahead of Monday's game versus the Maple Leafs, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. This move comes in response to Jacob Markstrom being ruled out for Monday's game with an upper-body injury. In turn, David Rittich will serve as the starter, while Zagidulin dreses as the backup. Zagidulin, 25, has a long track record of success in the KHL, but he registered an .898 save percentage over 30 AHL games last year.

  • Flames' Artyom Zagidulin: Up on taxi squad

Zagidulin was promoted to the taxi squad Saturday, per CapFriendly. Zagidulin and Louis Domingue swapped places. This is likely a paper move, as Zagidulin is expected to see most of the playing time with AHL Stockton once the minor-league affiliate's season begins Sunday.

  • Flames' Artyom Zagidulin: Lands on taxi squad

Zagidulin was added to the taxi squad from AHL Stockton on Thursday. Zagidulin will replace Louis Domingue on the taxi squad, as Domingue is handling backup duties with David Rittich away from the team Thursday. Expect Zagidulin to spend most of his time in the minors and on the taxi squad with three netminders currently ahead of him on the roster.
