Hockey Club's Mikhail Sergachev: Sitting out Monday
Sergachev (upper body) won't play against Winnipeg on Monday, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
As expected, Sergachev will miss his second straight outing. He has generated eight goals, 30 points, 72 shots on net, 81 blocked shots and 23 hits through 44 appearances this season. Nick DeSimone will remain in the lineup for Monday's contest due to Sergachev's absence.

Hockey Club's Robert Bortuzzo: Not yet ready to return
Head coach Andre Tourigny said Monday that Bortuzzo (lower body) is getting closer to full health but isn't yet ready to return to game action, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
Bortuzzo has been on injured reserve since early January due to a lower-body injury. He was initially regarded as week-to-week but now appears to be closer to day-to-day. Even though he'll remain sidelined Monday against Winnipeg, it wouldn't be surprising to see him attempt to ramp up his workload in practice in the near future.

Ingram was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Belle Fraser of The Salt Lake Tribune reports, indicating he will patrol the home crease versus Winnipeg on Monday.
Ingram is coming off a 22-save performance in Saturday's 4-2 win over St. Louis. He has a 7-5-3 record with a 3.38 GAA and an .879 save percentage through 15 appearances this season. Winnipeg ranks third in the league with 3.51 goals per game in 2024-25.

Hockey Club's Mikhail Sergachev: Unlikely to play Monday
Sergachev (upper body) is considered a game-time decision for Monday's matchup with Winnipeg, though it's unlikely he plays, Belle Fraser of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
It appears that Sergachev will likely miss a second game with an upper-body injury, though official confirmation on his status won't come until closer to game time. The 26-year-old blueliner has eight goals and 30 points through his first 44 games with Utah. Nick DeSimone will likely remain in the lineup if Sergachev sits.

Hockey Club's Vladislav Kolyachonok: Stuck in reserve role
Kolyachonok was scratched for the fifth straight game in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
John Marino's return Tuesday from a season-long absence due to a back injury complicated Kolyachonok's path to the lineup. A spot opened up Saturday when Mikhail Sergachev (upper body) was ruled out, but it was Nick DeSimone who entered the lineup. Kolyachonok has five points, 12 shots on net, a minus-7 rating, 14 hits and 19 blocked shots over 23 appearances this season. Kolyachonok would require waivers to be sent to AHL Tucson, but his presence on the NHL roster suggests Utah is not willing to risk losing the 23-year-old for nothing.

Hockey Club's Juuso Valimaki: Picks up helper in win
Valimaki notched an assist and three blocked shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
Valimaki helped out on a Logan Cooley tally in the second period. The assist ended an 11-game point drought for Valimaki, who had 13 blocked shots, nine hits, eight shots on net and a minus-7 rating in that span. He's held onto a bottom-four role for much of the season, earning five points, 36 shots on net, 45 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 39 appearances. Valimaki's place in the lineup could be at risk once Mikhail Sergachev (upper body) and Robert Bortuzzo (lower body) are both healthy again.

Hockey Club's John Marino: Earns first helper of season
Marino logged an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
Marino has been eased back into action after missing the first 42 contests of the season due to a back injury. That ended Saturday, as he was called on for 24:14 of ice time in the absence of Mikhail Sergachev (upper body). Marino is likely to stick in a top-four going forward, though he's more of a shutdown defenseman than a big point producer -- his career high is 26 points in 56 outings in 2019-20, his rookie year. His helper Saturday was his first point of the season to go with two shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over three appearances.

Hockey Club's Michael Kesselring: Lights lamp on power play
Kesselring scored a power-play goal on six shots and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
The goal was Kesselring's first since Dec. 7, and he had just three helpers over the 18 games in between. The 25-year-old saw a larger role Saturday, logging 21:11 of ice time because Mikhail Sergachev (upper body) was out of the lineup. Kesselring has thrived this season with five goals, 13 assists, two power-play points, 85 shots on net, 54 hits, 38 blocked shots, 42 PIM and a plus-10 rating through 45 appearances. His production can help in deeper fantasy formats, and he may be an option in standard formats for as long as Sergachev is sidelined.

Hockey Club's Nick Schmaltz: Nets go-ahead goal Saturday
Schmaltz scored a goal on three shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
Schmaltz is riding a five-game point streak (three goals, three assists) after netting the go-ahead tally Saturday. The 28-year-old forward was the only member of Utah's top line to be limited to one point -- Clayton Keller had four and Logan Cooley added three -- but Schmaltz continues to be a key player in his own right. He's at nine goals, 35 points, 100 shots on net and a minus-11 rating through 45 appearances this season. He's got a good chance of reaching the 60-point mark for the second year in a row.

Hockey Club's Logan Cooley: Racks up three points in win
Cooley scored a goal on three shots, added two assists and went plus-3 in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
One of Cooley's helpers came on the power play. This was his first multi-point effort since Dec. 18, but the 20-year-old center was able to earn a point in 10 of the 13 contests in between. He's having a massive sophomore season with 14 goals, 27 helpers, 93 shots on net, 33 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 45 appearances. He's earned 15 of his 41 points on the power play.

Overall, Keller's up to 15 goals, 33 helpers, 19 power-play points, 110 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over 44 appearances.

Hockey Club's Connor Ingram: Holds off Blues
Ingram stopped 22 of 24 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
Ingram has allowed four goals on 56 shots over two contests since he returned from an upper-body injury. Unlike in his last start, he got enough goal support for the win this time, improving to 7-5-3 on the season. Ingram has added a 3.38 GAA and an .879 save percentage over 15 appearances. Karel Vejmelka has started to struggle a bit in January after keeping Utah competitive in Ingram's absence. In any case, that opens the door for Ingram to push for a larger share of starts moving forward. Utah's next game is at home Monday versus the Jets.

Cole notched an assist and three blocked shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Cole had four assists over six outings from Dec. 23 to Jan. 4, but he had been held off the scoresheet in the four subsequent contests. The 35-year-old was able to snap that slump Thursday when he helped out on Matias Maccelli's opening tally 1:01 into the game. Cole is up to 13 points, 44 shots on net, 41 PIM, 52 hits, 127 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 44 appearances in a top-four role this season.

Sergachev notched an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Sergachev had gone three games without a point entering Thursday. That matches his longest drought of the season, which occurred Oct. 19-24. The 26-year-old continues to be a steady producer in a top-pairing role -- he's at 30 points, 72 shots on net, 81 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-11 rating through 44 appearances. Sergachev has reached the 30-point mark in seven of his eight full NHL campaigns, the lone exception being his injury-riddled 2023-24.
