Concacaf Nations League picks for Panama vs. Canada

Before you tune in to Thursday's match, you need to see the Concacaf Nations League picks from betting expert Brandt Sutton. Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine's top soccer editor for more than five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most-informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Sutton finished 2022 as SportsLine's top soccer expert with a 165-130-2 mark, returning nearly $2,200 for $100 players. He also excelled in Serie A with a 63-39-1 mark, returning nearly $1,600.

For Canada vs. Panama, Sutton is picking Canada with a 0.5 handicap for a -140 payout. The Canadians have had little difficulty with the Panamanians in head-to-head history. The teams have played 13 matches all-time, with Panama winning just two of those. Panama have never defeated Canada outside of their home stadium in Panama City.

Canada are undefeated in 2023 and have outscored opponents 6-1 combined over the last two Nations League games. Cyle Larin scored three of those goals, while Jonathan David chipped in with two. The latter is coming off a stellar season with Lille as David's 24 goals ranked third in Ligue 1 and sixth among the Big 5 European leagues. He will power a Canadian offense that should be too much for a Panama team that just allowed two goals this past Saturday to a Nicaraguan side that is 140th in FIFA rankings. Stream the game here.
