Barcelona came from behind to beat Benfica in dramatic fashion on Tuesday in UEFA Champions League action, taking part in Matchday 7's wildest game so far with a 5-4 win.

Benfica took a 3-1 lead before halftime thanks to Vangelis Pavlidis's 30 minute hattrick, benefitting from multiple mistakes made by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. Benfica made a mistake of their own by gifting Raphinha a second half goal, and matters became worse for Barcelona with an own goal from Ronald Araujo. Two penalties scored by Robert Lewandowski and a late equalizer from Eric Garcia, though, paved the way for Raphinha's stoppage time winner.

It was not the only dramatic result on Tuesday, with Atletico Madrid beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 courtesy of a 90th minute winner from Julian Alvarez. Liverpool also kept their perfect streak alive with a 2-1 win over Lille, and Bologna picked up their first Champions League win of the season with a 2-1 victory over struggling Borussia Dortmund.

A third for Stuttgart

A red card for Leverkusen!

A second for Crvena Zvezda!

77' And just like that, it's two for Crvena Zvezada. Nasser Djiga scores from a set piece and go from 3-0 down to 3-2 down in the span of five minutes, and with a little more than 10 minutes on the clock, the hunt for the equalizer is on.

Barcelona nab a third

78' There's another twist in Portugal, where Barcelona have earned yet another penalty. Lewandowski coverts it again and Benfica's lead is just down to one goal once again -- we have about 10 minutes to find out if they can hang on to the 4-3 lead.

Crvena Zvezda are on the board

71' Cherif Ndiaye scores from close range for Crvena Zvezda, pulling one back against a 10-man PSV. It might not be enough, but stranger things have happened...

Bologna with two quick goals!

72' Thijs Dallinga and Samuel Iling-Junior score two goals in two minutes and all of a sudden, Dortmund are down 2-1 to Bologna. That's not good new for the German side -- they had just one win in their last eight coming into this one, and they don't have a lot of time to fix this.

Benfica with a fourth!

68' A mistake-riddled game delivers yet another one, with Ronald Araujo scoring a silly own goal to give Benfica a 4-2 lead. This has been an absolutely wild match -- and there are still about 20 minutes on the clock.

Barcelona pull one back

64' It's now Benfica 3, Barcelona 2 in Portugal, but the circumstances could not be stranger. Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin takes a goal kick but instead hits the ball straight into Raphinha, and the ball ricochets off him and lands straight into the back of the net!

Lille get a red card and a goal

62' It's been a hectic few minutes for Lille but things may not be so bad as things stand -- three minutes after Aissa Mandi's red card, Jonathan David scores their equalizer against Liverpool. The Reds are being punished for not putting the game to bed but Lille deserve credit -- they already have a big win against Real Madrid under their belts and have earned their status as a surprise top eight side.

Ryan Flamingo sent off!

50' PSV's Ryan Flamingo was the toast of the town with his first half strike against Crvena Zvezda, but things have taken a turn for him -- he makes a silly tackle and is sent off for denial of a goalscoring opportunity. PSV still have a 3-0 lead, though, and will probably be able to survive this.

Leverkusen in front!

A Pavlidis hattrick!

30' Things go from bad to worse for Wojciech Szczesny, who concedes a penalty. Vangelis Pavlidis steps up and converts easily as the 'keeper goes the wrong way, giving Benfica a 3-1 lead over Barcelona and scoring a hattrick in just half an hour. He's only the fourth player to score a hattrick in the Champions League against Barcelona.

Atletico see red!

25' Pablo Barrios goes in for a studs up challenge, which looks like a red card at first glance. The referee double checks by going to the monitor, but he doesn't have to stay too long before confirming the deciison. Atletico Madrid are down to 10 against Bayer Leverkusen.

A second for PSV!

23' Another set piece, another goal for Luuk de Jong. He didn't have to wait nearly as long for his second Champions League goal as he did for his first this season, and now has his first Champions League brace ever.

Benfica back in front!

22' Wojciech Szczesny comes way off his line but is unable to communicate that decision with Alejandro Balde and gives Vangelis Pavlidis a golden opportunity, and he doesn't miss from close range. Benfica are back in the lead at home against Barcelona.
