Sammy Watkins named ACC Preseason Player of Year

Sammy Watkins, Clemson's sophomore wide receiver, was named ACC preseason player of the year, edging out Logan Thomas of Virginia Tech, EJ Manuel of Florida State and Tajh Boyd of Clemson.

Sammy Watkins is the ACC preseason player of the year, according to a media vote at the ACC Kickoff.

Watkins, a sophomore wide receiver at Clemson, set ACC freshman records for catches (82), receiving yards (1,219) and touchdown receptions (12) last season. He received 25 votes.  Here is the media voting on player of the year:
