Rockies' Cal Quantrill: Earns seventh victory
Quantrill (7-7) earned the win Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out three.
Quantrill was stingy Wednesday and got more than enough run support in an eventual 20-7 Rockies victory. It marks the 29-year-old Quantrill's first win since June 11, though he's now turned in back-to-back quality starts. His ERA sits at 4.09 through 21 starts (114.1 innings) this season with a 1.34 WHIP and 86:43 K:BB. Quantrill's tentatively lined up to face the Angels at home in his next outing.

Rockies' Cal Quantrill: Hands in quality start
Quantrill yielded three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out five during a win over the Giants.
Quantrill coughed up a pair of runs in the second inning and another in the third. Unfortunately for him, the Rockies didn't take the lead until the eighth inning, so he's still searching for his first win since June 11. In six starts since that last victory, Quantril has posted a 6.44 ERA through 29.1 frames. He's now sporting a 4.15 ERA with an 83:41 K:BB through 108.1 innings. Quantrill's next appearance is currently lined up to come at home against the Red Sox.

Rockies' Cal Quantrill: Hit hard by Cincy
Quantrill (6-7) took the loss Tuesday as the Rockies fell 12-6 to the Reds, giving up five runs on four hits and a walk over two innings. He struck out four.
Three of the four hits off the right-hander went for extra bases, including homers by Tyler Stephenson and Will Benson in the second inning. Quantrill has been taken deep five times in his last two road starts, so even being away from Coors Field isn't offering much of a respite for him. Over his last five outings he's saddled with a 6.94 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB through 23.1 innings. Quantrill will try to turn things around in his last start before the All-Star break, which is scheduled to come on the road against the Mets this weekend.

Rockies' Cal Quantrill: Command issues in no-decision
Quantrill did not factor into the decision in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out two.
Quantrill struggled with his command throughout the night, needing 28 pitches to get through the opening frame before issuing three walks in the fourth. The right-hander had posted a 13:1 K:BB over his previous two starts coming in, though he's now allowed 19 hits over his last three outings (16.1 innings). Rockies' Cal Quantrill: Allows three homers in loss
Quantrill (6-6) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing five runs on seven hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
Quantrill opened with four scoreless innings before allowing a two-run home run to Lenyn Sosa in the fifth. He had a rough sixth frame, surrendering a solo homer to Luis Robert and a two-run shot to Paul DeJong before being pulled at 90 pitches. This marked the first time Quantrill went without a walk in a start since May 3, but he was burned by the long ball and has now yielded 11 earned runs over his last three outings. On the season, the 29-year-old owns a 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 72:34 K:BB over 95.1 innings and lines up to face the Brewers next week.

Quantrill did not factor into the decision in a win over the Nationals on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings while striking out five.
Most of the damage against Quantrill came in the third when CJ Abrams tagged him for a leadoff double to open the inning before then advancing to third on a balk. The right-hander would go on to surrender two runs in the frame before later giving up a leadoff homer to Abrams in the fifth, though the former was still able to get through six innings for the seventh time in his last 10 starts. Quantrill has given up three or fewer runs in four consecutive outings, though he's also allowed seven hits in each of his last two.

Rockies' Cal Quantrill: Defeated by Dodgers on Monday
Quantrill (6-5) took the loss against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three batters over five innings.
Quantrill came into the contest having tossed back-to-back scoreless starts, but he wasn't able to maintain that level of sharpness Monday. The right-hander fell behind 3-0 through two frames, and though he held Los Angeles scoreless for the remainder of his outing, he didn't get the run support necessary to be taken off the hook for the loss. Quantrill has had a few poor appearances this season but has generally been a positive addition to the Rockies' rotation, recording a 3.43 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 59:33 K:BB through 84 innings.

Rockies' Cal Quantrill: Another scoreless start
Quantrill (6-4) picked up the win Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing three hits and one walk with five strikeouts across six scoreless innings.
Quantrill has gone 11 straight innings without allowing a run and issued fewer than two walks for the first time in four starts. The 29-year-old didn't yield an extra-base hit Tuesday and didn't let a runner get past second base, qualifying for his sixth quality start in his last eight outings. While his strikeout stuff has been hit-or-miss, Quantrill owns a 6-1 record and a 1.91 ERA since the start of May. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Dodgers at Coors Field on Monday. Quantrill allowed four runs in 4.1 innings when he faced the Dodgers in Los Angeles on June 1.
