Analysis

The Eagles have shown me nothing through 2 weeks on offense with 318 and 341 yards against the Commanders and Titans. And inside those numbers, 79 yards and 65 yards were their last drives of of each game, when they needed to score. The first 3.5 quarters were awful. Remove those two drives, and the Eagles produced 34 points on 17 possessions, while losing 12.2 expected points on their 106 rushes/dropbacks. As for those record setting Bears, well the drop off from 59 points to 3 points was stark. Less than 300 yards.. 4.2 yards per play, a far cry from 7.7 in Week 1. Chicago’s running game produced −9.3 EPA. Caleb Williams status up in the air and shouldn't be scared of Tyson Bagent.

Analysis

Caleb Williams seems unlikely to play after being deemed week-to-week, and Tyson Bagent could also be sidelined. I love the matchup for this Eagles defense against Bagent or Case Keenum. The final score against the Titans was tighter than it might have been thanks to a long interception return setting up a Tennessee touchdown and taking points from Philadelphia, and with Chicago's questionable defense, we could see a final score around 31-13 like we might have had without that one bad play. I have this line at 4.5 so I'm going to grab the 3 in case it moves.

FanDuel. Dontayvion Wicks is over this line in both games for the Eagles, with 73 and 74 yards. Easily the number two target for Jalen Hurts right now, the matchup Monday sets up perfectly for him. The Bears have run the third highest rate of man coverage thus far - Wicks has been much more efficient against man in his career. The Bears secondary is also decimated by injuries, and have shown they can be beat downfield. Dallas Goedert is out, Makai Lemon has yet to make a real impact, and the run game/offensive line looks out of sorts in the new offense. Smash spot for Wicks - I’d bet this up to over 43.5 yards.

I just can’t quit the Eagles, 0-2 ATS so far. But now they’re facing Case Keenum and a Bears defense that’s bottom-10 vs. both the run and the pass so far. Chicago’s run game has been effective because Caleb Williams was a passing threat. That won’t be the case here, so the Eagles can exert some muscle inside. Philly’s playcalling has been lacking, making games closer than they should be. But they can get Saquon Barkley going here, making Jalen Hurts more dangerous.

Analysis

Prime time road chalk! What could go wrong?!!? Honestly, the only thing that could go wrong here is Ben Johnson magically manufacturing 17+ points for this Chicago offense with either a banged up Tyler Bagent or a 38-year-old Case Keenum. I don't think the Eagles are anything remotely close to a juggernaut on offense, but defensively they're elite. The Eagles really, really should score 21 points at bare minimum here against a Bears defense that can't stop anyone without hefty wind and rain conditions in play. So to cover this, in my mind, the Bears need to score 17 points. I think Ben Johnson is a genius but without Caleb Williams I don't see that happening so we back the Eagles.
