    Analysis

    It's the Cubs home finale of the regular season and I'm betting on Pete Crow-Armstrong putting on a show for the home fans. The Cubs need this game to avoid the sweep but it's looking less likely that they'll be hosting a Wild Card series at Wrigley Field next week. The home-road splits for the future National League MVP are stark: he's batting over .300 at home as compared to .253 on the road. Expect the superstar to put on a show for the home crowd with a multi-hit performance (or at least an extra base hit) on Thursday.

    Analysis

    The price here on PCA to record a stolen base is really depressed so make sure to bet this at MGM for +180 or better, with even some +200's still out there. The spot sets up much better than last night for the Cubs MVP to steal a base, as Agustin Ramirez did not play last night and today's starter Tyler Phillips has been much worse for allowing stolen bases. We got our chance last night for a steal but PCA ran as Seiya Suzuki popped up, and we didn't get the chance to see him get the steal officially. I think in the final home game of the year, he gets it done in front of the home fans.

    Analysis

    The Royals have scored under four runs just one time over the last five games, and at least five runs in all those. Over the last two weeks, their home OPS stands at .906. And here they face White Sox RHP David Sandlin, who’s given up five-plus runs in two of his last three games. He did perform well vs. KC on June 26, but in the two starts since his mid-September callup has given up eight runs in 9.2 IP.

    Analysis

    Skenes hasn’t showcased the dominance many expected in 2026. But he can finish strong here vs. a Cardinals lineup that, over the last two weeks, has a .561 OPS vs. right-handers and even-worse .471 OPS on the road. Skenes hasn’t thrown even 90 pitches in his last three starts. But this is Skenes’ last appearance this season, so if Pittsburgh can send the reigning NL Cy Young ace out on a high note, they should.

    Analysis

    Always like a team in its home finale and that's where the Bucs are behind Paul Skenes -- yeah, blame the WBC for your down season. That's rather weak. But I assume the proud reigning Cy Young winner wants to finish strong and every key reliever is available behind him. The Pirates have the carrot of finishing with a winning record, which I think matters for a young team on the rise. A few Cards regulars are sitting. Kyle Leahy starts on the mound and has a 9.26 ERA over his past four. He'll be piggy-backed by Cooper Hjerpe (6.00 ERA in nine innings).
