Sosa went 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run, three RBI and three runs Sunday against the Tigers. Sosa clubbed a three-run blast in the third inning, his eighth homer of the season. • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Ending season well

Sosa went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Angels. Sosa delivered a two-RBI double and came around to score in a seven-run fifth inning for the White Sox. He's started 19 of the team's 22 games in September and delivered a .375 batting average with three home runs, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored. That could be enough to position Sosa for a starting role to begin 2025, though Brooks Baldwin (wrist) could factor in at second base as well.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Swats solo shot

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a double in Wednesday's 4-3 win against the Angels. Sosa broke a 2-2 tie with a solo homer to left field in the fourth inning. It was his third long ball over his past eight games, a span during which he's batting .360 (9-for-25) with five RBI and five runs. Sosa's hot stretch has extended beyond that span, as he's hitting .373 overall in September.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Absent from lineup

Sosa is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Angels. Sosa had started each of the previous 10 games at second base but will begin this one on the bench. Nicky Lopez will handle the keystone and bat leadoff for the White Sox.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Seven-game hitting streak

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Guardians. Sosa played his part in a four-run rally in the third inning with an RBI single before also coming around to score. The performance extended his hitting streak to seven games, during which Sosa has hit .407 with two doubles, four runs scored and three RBI. He should get regular run at second base so long as Brooks Baldwin (wrist) is sidelined.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Resting Friday

Sosa is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets. After making 12 consecutive starts (eight at second base, four at third base), Sosa will take a seat Friday. Nicky Lopez will handle the keystone while Miguel Vargas plays third base.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Exiting starting nine Wednesday

Sosa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees. Sosa had batted first or second in each of the past three games, but he failed to provide a spark near the top of the lineup, going 1-for-12 at the plate. Though the White Sox probably aren't ready to pull the plug on Sosa as a near-everyday player just yet, the 24-year-old will head to the bench in the series finale nonetheless.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sent down to minors

The White Sox optioned Sosa to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Sosa had a stretch recently with five straight multi-hit games, but he finished the first half going just 2-for-22 across his last six contests and has managed just a .624 OPS on the season. Nick Senzel will take Sosa's spot on the roster and could also replace him as the White Sox's everyday third baseman.

Sosa logged multiple hits for a fifth straight outing, saving the streak with a solo homer in the ninth inning off Nick Sandlin. The 24-year-old Sosa had gone yard only twice in his first 38 games, but he has matched that number during the hit streak. Sosa is slashing .252/.287/.392 over 151 plate appearances this season.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Active in win

Sosa went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Rockies. Sosa singled in the third inning, hit a two-run home run in the fifth and then walked and scored in the eighth. Entering Saturday, Sosa was in a 2-for-33 slump, but he broke out of it in a big way. On the season, the 24-year-old is now hitting .218 with three homers, 11 RBI and eight runs scored over 132 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Recalled from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. It's the corresponding move for the demotion of Bryan Ramos, who was optioned Thursday. Sosa has struggled mightily during his time in the majors over the last three seasons, slashing just .177/.200/.304 in 75 games. Theoretically, there is playing time available on the White Sox infield, but there's no indication that Sosa will see much of it.

Sosa will be optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Danny Mendick is expected to have his contract selected from Charlotte and join Chicago's major-league roster Monday.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Idle Saturday

Sosa isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against Philadelphia. Sosa is 0-for-8 in his last three games, so he'll get a chance to clear his head Saturday. While he sits, Braden Shewmake will pick up a start at third base and bat ninth.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sitting for first game of twin bill

Sosa is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Royals. Sosa will likely start in the second game of the twin bill, but he'll give way to Braden Shewmake at third base in the opening contest of the day. Since Yoan Moncada (adductor) was placed on the injured list earlier this month, Sosa has settled in as Chicago's primary option at the hot corner. He had started each of the White Sox's last six games, going 3-for-23 with a pair of doubles, a walk, an RBI and two runs.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Steps in for injured Moncada

Sosa will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Guardians. Sosa went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored while starting at second base in Tuesday's 7-5 win, but he looks as though he could be in store for an everyday role at the hot corner moving forward. The White Sox placed Yoan Moncada on the 10-day injured list with a left adductor strain that's expected to keep him sidelined for 3-to-6 months, and Sosa will get the first chance to replace him in the lineup.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: One hit in 2024 debut

Sosa went 1-for-3 Saturday against the Royals. Sosa was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday and was immediately penciled in at second base while hitting seventh. He accounted for one of only three hits by the White Sox, though he's likely to serve primarily as a backup across most of the infield positions. Even if Sosa does find more consistent playing time, he's managed only a .186 average across his first 209 big-league plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Recalled from Charlotte

The White Sox recalled Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday. Sosa was officially called up after the White Sox moved Luis Robert (hip) to the 10-day injured list. Sosa had a good start with Charlotte, going 8-for-24 with one home run, three RBI and five walks. He will draw the start at second base and bat seventh in Saturday's game against the Royals.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Promotion incoming

Sosa is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. With Eloy Jimenez (thigh) and Luis Robert (hip) both dealing with injuries, adding Sosa will give the White Sox extra depth. The 24-year-old infielder has slashed just .186/.209/.327 across 209 plate appearances in his MLB career, but he's had a hot start through five games at Charlotte, going 8-for-24 with two doubles and a homer. Sosa's bat may be useful for a White Sox offense that is suddenly without its star contributors.
