Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Back in lineup Monday
Schanuel (calf) is starting at first base and batting second in Monday's series opener against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Schanuel began Sunday's game in the dugout after exiting early Saturday due to left calf tightness. However, the lefty-hitting first baseman was able to pinch hit Sunday, going 2-for-2 with an RBI single in an 8-5 win over Oakland. Schanuel will face off against Mariners right-hander Bryce Miller on Monday.

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Sitting Sunday, could pinch hit
Schanuel (calf) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics but expects to be available as a pinch hitter, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Schanuel exited the game ahead of the bottom of the third inning, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout. The 22-year-old grounded out in his final at-bat in the top of the third, which is likely when he experienced the calf issue. More information on his status will likely be provided in the near future.

Schanuel hadn't homered since June 16, but he hit a reliable .286 (26-for-91) over the 25 games between long balls. Schanuel notched an RBI single in the fourth inning and walked twice to extend his modest on-base streak to five games.
