Fry went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer in Friday's win over the Twins.
Fry put Cleveland ahead with a 364-foot home run in the sixth inning off Steven Okert. The 28-year-old utility man has been especially hot since the calendar turned to May, hitting .366 (11-for-30) this month. Over 95 plate appearances this season, Fry is slashing .333/.453/.560 with four homers, 15 runs scored and 14 RBI.

Guardians' David Fry: Goes deep in win
Fry went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer, two runs scored and two walks in Sunday's 7-0 win over the White Sox.
Fry belted a two-run shot in the fourth inning and later reached base twice more. The breakout utility man has gone 10-for-28 (.357) with four extra-base hits over his last 10 games. Through 27 games, Fry is slashing .309/.437/.515 with three home runs and 14 runs scored.

Guardians' David Fry: Hits game-tying homer
Fry went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers.
Fry went yard in the ninth inning off Andrew Chafin to tie the game at 4-4. This was Fry's second homer of the season. The versatile 28-year-old is batting .364 (8-for-22) over his last eight games. His ability to catch, play in the corner outfield and fill in at first base gives him multiple paths to playing time, and that versatility figures to be even more important as the Guardians weigh their options for left field with Steven Kwan (hamstring) likely out for four weeks. Fry is slashing .316/.438/.491 with two homers, one stolen base, 10 RBI, 11 runs scored and four doubles over 73 plate appearances on the season.

Guardians' David Fry: Batting third Monday
Fry will start at designated hitter and bat third in Monday's game versus the White Sox.
The White Sox are going with an opener in lefty Tanner Banks, so putting the right-handed hitting Fry in the third spot ensures at least one plate appearance versus a southpaw. Three of Fry's four starts this season have come against lefties, and he's 3-for-5 with a double versus them in the early going.

Fry went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Twins.
Getting the start behind the plate and batting eighth, Fry gave the Guardians' pitching staff all the offense it would need by taking Joe Ryan deep in the second inning. It was the first homer of the season for the 28-year-old utility player and also his first appearance at catcher, but he's also started one game at first base and one at DH while also coming off the bench to see some action at third base. Fry could start to get more consistent playing time somewhere on the diamond if he keeps raking -- he's batting .455 (5-for-11) with six RBI and four runs so far.

Fry has been in the lineup against both southpaws the Athletics have started so far, playing at designated hitter on Opening Day and at first base in Saturday's contest. He offers a right-handed option at catcher and first, though he could push for more playing time given his hot start. Fry has gone 4-for-6 with three RBI, a steal and two walks over 11 plate appearances while hitting in the middle of the order versus southpaws.

Fry was the Opening Day designated hitter and finished 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. It was a great start to 2024 for the 28-year-old, but with Ross Stripling on the mound Friday for the A's, Estevan Florial will start at DH and bat eighth for the Guardians.

Guardians' David Fry: Records three hits on Opening Day
Fry went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI in Thursday's 8-0 Opening Day win over Oakland.
Fry got the start at DH and batted fifth in the order following a strong spring during which he hit .295 with a pair of homers and eight RBI. The 28-year-old scored Cleveland's first run of the campaign in the second inning Thursday, coming around to score on a Tyler Freeman double following his own one-out two-bagger. In addition to his three hits, Fry added a sacrifice fly in the ninth frame to cap the scoring in the contest. It will take much more than one game for him to gain viability in mixed fantasy leagues, though the fact that Fry holds catcher eligibility and may log occasional time at DH in addition to being able to play the infield and outfield gives him some intrigue, especially in two-catcher formats.

Guardians' David Fry: Shakes off illness
Fry (illness) will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter and No. 8 batter in Monday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers.
Fry hadn't played in any spring games since March 3 due to an illness, but he'll still have plenty of time to get enough at-bats in during Cactus League play and keep himself prepared for the start of the regular season. The 28-year-old sits behind Bo Naylor and Austin Hedges on the depth chart at catcher, but Fry's ability to play first base as well as both corner-outfield spots could help him in his battle for one of the Guardians' available bench roles.

Guardians' David Fry: Strikeouts piling up
Fry has gone 3-for-13 with two extra-base hits, four RBI and five strikeouts over five Cactus League games.
Fry needs a strong spring, as he is in contention for a number of roles. A natural catcher, Fry could displace Austin Hedges from the backup role behind Bo Naylor (back). If that doesn't happen, Fry also offers coverage at first base and the corner outfield. He's unlikely to displace Josh Naylor at first base, but right field remains wide open for the Guardians. Fry had his first taste of major-league action in 2023, slashing .238/.319/.416 with four home runs, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored and two stolen bases over 113 plate appearances.
