  • Stanley Johnson: Signs deal overseas

Johnson signed a deal in the Euroleague with Anadolu Efes on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

An NBA veteran with eight seasons of experience, Johnson never quite found his stride during stints with the Pistons, Pelicans, Raptors, Lakers and Spurs. In 449 career NBA games, Johnson produced averages of 6.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 three-pointers.

  • Stanley Johnson: Player rights acquired by Stockton

The Stockton Kings acquired Johnson's returning player rights from the Sioux Falls Skyforce Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

In a deal brokered between Sacramento and Miami's G League affiliates, Johnson's player rights now belong to the Stockton Kings. Sacramento's main roster has an open spot, but it's unclear if that will be used on Johnson. The 27-year-old hasn't played since being waived by San Antonio in February, and his last G League action came in 2019-20 with Toronto.

  • Stanley Johnson: Will be let go by San Antonio

The Spurs will release Johnson on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Johnson garnered a modest reserve role for the Spurs this season, averaging 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 15.6 minutes across 30 appearances. He's shooting 45.0 percent from three and is a solid defender, so there'll presumably be a few contenders interested in acquiring him for the stretch run.

  • Spurs' Stanley Johnson: Sees big backup minutes

Johnson closed with seven points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 12 rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes during Saturday's 128-118 overtime loss to Phoenix.

With several key wings out for the Spurs on Saturday night, Johnson saw a season-high 26 minutes. While his usage was still fairly low, he had an unusually high rebounding night and set a season high with 12 boards. However, fantasy managers don't need to take much from this performance, as Johnson's role will likely be diminished when Josh Richardson (knee) and Romeo Langford (hip) are back in action.

  • Spurs' Stanley Johnson: Active Thursday

Johnson (wrist) will suit up for Thursday's game against the Clippers, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Johnson was handed a questionable designation Thursday with right wrist soreness, but the issue will not prevent him from playing. With Josh Richardson (knee) and Jeremy Sochan (quad) sitting out, Johnson could be in line for a few extra minutes. However, he has failed to cross the five-point threshold in five of his last six contests.

  • Spurs' Stanley Johnson: Questionable Thursday

Johnson is questionable for Thursday's game against the Clippers due to right wrist soreness.

Johnson was held scoreless for just the second time this season during Wednesday's loss to the Lakers, and it's possible that his wrist issue contributed to his struggles. He hasn't missed a game since making his Spurs debut in mid-December, but it's unclear whether he'll be available Thursday.

  • Spurs' Stanley Johnson: Has little impact again Tuesday

Johnson ended Tuesday's 106-98 victory over the Nets with two points (0-1 FG, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal over six minutes.

Johnson played fewer than 15 minutes for the fifth time in his past six games, offering basically nothing from a fantasy perspective. While he has been able to carve out a regular spot in the rotation, Johnson is clearly not a part of the long-term plans for the Spurs. He can be ignored in just about every fantasy format, although if for some reason he sees an increase in playing time, he could have limited value as a steals streamer.

  • Spurs' Stanley Johnson: Best performance of season Thursday

Johnson accumulated 12 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 13 minutes during Thursday's 126-117 loss to New Orleans.

Johnson -- on a one-year, $1.7 million deal with the Spurs -- has been playing in the G League until recently. He's appeared in the Spurs' past four games as the squad has dealt with injuries. Thursday's effort was his best of the season, and over the past two contests, he's combined for 22 points, seven boards, five assists, three blocks and one steal in 32 minutes. However, everyone is healthy for Friday's game against the Magic, so Johnson may return to seeing insignificant action.

  • Spurs' Stanley Johnson: Signing with San Antonio

The Spurs will sign Johnson, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Johnson has yet to appear in an NBA game this season and was playing for the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce before landing a deal with San Antonio. To make room for Johnson on the NBA roster, the Spurs waived veteran forward Alize Johnson.

  • Stanley Johnson: Quiet in Skyforce debut

Johnson recorded two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3PT, 2-2 FT), five assists and two rebounds in 23 minutes during Friday's 113-102 win over Motor City.

Johnson was given the sixth-man role Friday but failed to make much of an impact, missing all three of his shot attempts while leading Sioux Falls in turnovers. However, with the Skyforce relatively thin on the wing, Johnson should have plenty of opportunities to excel with the team.

  • Stanley Johnson: Let go by Utah

The Jazz waived Johnson on Friday, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports.

Johnson was traded from the Lakers to the Jazz back in August. The 2015 No. 8 pick played 48 games for the Lakers last season and averaged 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals in 22.8 minutes. While Johnson has improved his efficiency and defense, he finds himself looking to join his fourth team in three seasons.

  • Jazz's Stanley Johnson: Traded to Utah

Johnson and Talen Horton-Tucker were traded from the Lakers on Thursday to the Jazz for Patrick Beverley, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Johnson is somewhat of a throw-in for this deal. He's 26 years old and doesn't quite fit Utah's rebuilding mindset, but the Jazz may opt to hold onto him and give him minutes to rehab more of his value. Johnson -- the former No. 8 pick in the 2015 Draft -- has struggled to find a consistent role in the NBA across four prior stops. Last year with the Lakers was a bounceback, and he found success playing a defensive role while sometimes portraying a big on offense. However, even with a potentially-increased role in Utah, it's unlikely Johnson will be with a roster spot in fantasy. He's never returned top-200 value in eight-category roto formats on a per-game basis, even when he saw 27.4 minutes for a Detroit team that drafted him.

  • Lakers' Stanley Johnson: Team option picked up

Johnson had his $2.4 million team option picked up by the Lakers on Wednesday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Johnson signed the contract in January of last season and ended up playing a significant role with the Lakers down the stretch. In his 48 appearances, he averaged 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22.8 minutes.
