Bryant is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Warriors.
After scoring a season-high 22 points during his spot start in Wednesday's win over the Bulls, Bryant is unsurprisingly heading back to the second unit in Myles Turner's (illness) return. Bryant's short-term fantasy appeal appears to have subsided for the time being, as he's averaged just 5.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.7 threes in 11.5 minutes over 11 games off Indiana's bench this season.

Pacers' Thomas Bryant: Season-high 22 points as starter
Bryant logged 22 points (9-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight boards, two steals and an assist across 28 minutes of play in Wednesday's win over the Bulls.
With Myles Turner (illness) sidelined, Bryant got his first start of the season. He delivered in a huge way, dropping a season high in points and collecting his second-highest rebound total of the season. Head coach Rick Carlisle and Bryant's teammates clearly had a lot of trust in him to step up, given the fact that he took more shots than franchise cornerstone Tyrese Haliburton and rotation mainstays Andrew Nembhard and Bennedict Mathurin. Wednesday's strong showing could lead to more opportunity for Bryant even once Turner returns to the lineup, although it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to remain relevant from a fantasy perspective.

Pacers' Thomas Bryant: Joining first unit sans Turner
Bryant will start Wednesday's game against the Bulls, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
Bryant is slated to make his first appearance as a starter in 2024-25, joining the first unit in place of Myles Turner (illness) at center Wednesday. Bryant has averaged 6.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.8 threes in 12.7 minutes across his last six contests but should experience an uptick in playing time against Chicago, putting him in the streaming mix in fantasy leagues.

Bryant ended Tuesday's 120-112 loss to the Bucks with three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 FT) and two rebounds across five minutes.
Bryant saw just five minutes, the fewest he has played since joining Indiana. Despite the fact he is the team's only backup center option, the Pacers opted to run with a number of small-ball lineups, limiting Bryant's opportunities. Bryant took on the backup center role in the absence of small-ball five Obi Toppin (ankle), providing decent production in the form of a season-high 12 points in just 19 minutes off the bench Friday. Bryant has now made six appearances since latching on with Indiana, averaging a mere 4.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.5 blocks and 0.5 three-pointers in 11.3 minutes for the Pacers in 2024-25. Even with Toppin's status uncertain for Sunday's rematch with the Celtics, Bryant still doesn't appear likely to handle enough minutes to make a significant impact for fantasy managers in the vast majority of leagues.

Bryant will be available to make his Pacers debut in Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Tony East of SI.com reports.
Though he was outside of Miami's rotation for much of the season before being traded to Indiana on Friday, Bryant has a clearer path to consistent playing time with the Pacers. The Pacers acquired Bryant from the Heat on Friday in exchange for a future second-round pick swap, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Bryant had been an irregular part of Miami's rotation this season with Kevin Love and Kel'el Ware on hand to fill backup center minutes behind Bam Adebayo, but Bryant will help address a need in Indiana. The Pacers have already lost their top two backup options at center -- Isaiah Jackson (Achilles) and James Wiseman (Achilles) -- to season-ending injuries, so Bryant could have a clear path to serving as Myles Turner's primary understudy. His primary competition will come from Obi Toppin and Enrique Freeman, both of whom are undersized for the center spot and better suited for power forward.

Bryant dusted himself off and moved into the rotation, albeit during the final minutes of a 40-point blowout. After starting the season as the backup behind Bam Adebayo, Bryant has since struggled to be an every-night part of the rotation. At this point, it would likely take an injury to Adebayo for Bryant to even come close to being a noteworthy asset.

Bryant and the Heat agreed to a one-year deal Wednesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Bryant previously declined his $2.85 million player option for the 2024-25, but after assessing his opportunities on the open market, he'll ultimately stick around in Miami on a lesser deal. He'll likely find himself fourth in the pecking order at center for the Heat behind Bam Adebayo, Kevin Love and rookie Kel'el Ware, meaning that it may take an injury or two for Bryant to be a factor in head coach Erik Spoelstra's rotation.

Bryant declined his $2.8 million player option Saturday, and he will test free agency this offseason, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Bryant had a down year with the Heat, and if he were to have stayed his role likely would have diminished as the club drafted Kel'el Ware with the No. 15 overall selection in the 2024 Draft.
