Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Won't undergo surgery
DiVincenzo will not undergo surgery on his turf toe injury and will miss at least three more weeks for the Timberwolves, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
DiVincenzo had finally found his footing with the Timberwolves before going down with the toe injury, but he may not miss as much time as first thought, which is great news for Minnesota. The veteran guard averages 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 39.6 percent from the floor and 36.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Out indefinitely with toe sprain
Minnesota announced Monday that DiVincenzo is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a Grade 3 left great toe sprain following an MRI.
DiVincenzo will receive a second opinion before a determination is made on his treatment plan, but surgery could be on the table. Even if DiVincenzo is able to avoid a procedure, injuries of this sort often entail at least a two-month recovery, so the 27-year-old looks as though he could be sidelined through the All-Star break, if not longer. While DiVincenzo is out, Mike Conley will likely move back into the starting five and should have a higher minutes ceiling, while reserve guards such as Rob Dillingham and Nickeil Alexander-Walker could also see more playing time.

DiVincenzo is set to miss a third straight game with a toe problem, and there's no certainty on when he'll be back. His next chance to suit up will come against the Mavericks on Wednesday, and in his absence, Mike Conley should get another start at point guard.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Pops for season-high 28 in loss
DiVincenzo ended Wednesday's 116-115 loss to Golden State with 28 points (9-19 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and one steal across 39 minutes.
Facing the team he spent the 2022-23 campaign with, DiVincenzo has himself a revenge game and set a new season scoring high while tying Anthony Edwards for the team lead. DiVincenzo has started six straight games for Minnesota with Mike Conley moved to the bench, and the younger guard doesn't seem inclined to give the job back. Over that stretch, DiVincenzo is averaging 17.5 points, 5.3 boards, 4.7 assists, 4.0 threes and 1.5 steals while shooting 42.1 percent from long range.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Sets new season-high scoring mark
DiVincenzo produced 27 points (9-14 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Saturday's 127-125 loss to Memphis.
It's not a stretch to say DiVincenzo had his best game of the season Saturday. The veteran, who started for the fourth straight game in place of Mike Conley, set a new season-high scoring mark while also ending just three assists away from a triple-double. He's averaging 16.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game since being promoted to a starting role on Jan. 6.

DiVincenzo replaced Mike Conley in the starting lineup Monday, helping the Timberwolves snap a three-game losing streak. This is a move that is likely to stick for Minnesota, at least in the short term. DiVincenzo is trending up quickly, and he's been the second most valuable player in Minnesota behind Anthony Edwards over the past 10 games in nine-category formats.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Starting Monday
DiVincenzo will start in Monday's game against the Clippers.
After struggling to start the season, DiVincenzo will start at point guard Monday, supplanting veteran Mike Conley from the first unit. Over his last five games, DiVincenzo is averaging 15.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 31.0 minutes. It's unclear if the veteran sharpshooter will stay with the first unit going forward, but DiVincenzo will have a chance to make the move stick with a strong performance Monday.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Puts up 26 points off bench
DiVincenzo supplied 26 points (8-15 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 112-110 win over the Spurs.
Surprisingly, and despite coming off the bench, DiVincenzo led the Timberwolves in scoring and had a strong showing on both ends of the court. Additionally, he ended just three boards away from a double-double. DiVincenzo established a new season-high mark in scoring for the second game in a row, and he's scored at least 15 points in four of his last six outings.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Pops for season-high 22
DiVincenzo recorded 22 points (7-12 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 37 minutes off the bench during Friday's 113-112 win over Houston.
Just a few games after setting a new season high with 19 points, DiVincenzo topped it while also draining a season-best six three-pointers. The 27-year-old guard is locked in right now -- he's delivered multiple threes in five straight games, averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 boards, 3.4 treys, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals over that stretch while shooting 48.6 percent (17-for-35) from beyond the arc.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Pops for season-high 19 points
DiVincenzo logged 19 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 26 minutes during Saturday's 113-103 loss to the Warriors.
DiVincenzo matched Anthony Edwards with a team-high 19 points while providing a spark off the bench, and the former also registered his highest scoring output of the season thus far. DiVincenzo has struggled to acclimate to his new surroundings in Minnesota following a breakout season with the Knicks a year ago, reaching double figures in scoring in just three of his last eight games, a period in which he's averaging a modest 8.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.9 three-pointers in 22.9 minutes per contest. Fantasy managers hope Saturday's effort will get DiVincenzo back on track moving ahead, and the 28-year-old sharpshooter remains a decent source of dimes, treys and swipes even in a reserve role as the Wolves' sixth man.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Nearly double-doubles
DiVincenzo ended with 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-6 3Pt), five rebounds, nine assists and two steals over 28 minutes during Monday's 109-80 win over the Lakers.
DiVincenzo finished one assist shy of a double-double in what was one of his best performances of the season. This could provide a boost to his confidence, as he's had a tough campaign so far. Through 20 regular-season appearances, DiVincenzo has shot 36.0 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Timberwolves' Donte DiVincenzo: Rough night despite start
DiVincenzo posted three points (1-5 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal across 21 minutes during Tuesday's 117-111 overtime loss to the Rockets.
DiVincenzo remained in the starting lineup after Mike Conley was once again ruled out with a toe issue. Despite the promotion, DiVincenzo struggled to find any rhythm, logging just 21 minutes. It's been a disappointing start to his career in Minnesota, as he is currently averaging 9.2 points, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.2 three-pointers in 25.9 minutes per game. It should be noted that he is shooting a career-low 35.1 percent from the field. Should that number trend upwards, his offensive production should follow suit.

DiVincenzo has started to find his groove off the bench for the Timberwolves, again providing a lift offensively on the second unit in Thursday's defeat. DiVincenzo finished as one of two Minnesota players with at least three threes and has now surpassed the double-digit scoring mark in two straight outings.

DiVincenzo (back) has been cleared to play Monday against the Raptors.
DiVincenzo was added to the injury report as questionable due to back spasms, but the issue isn't significant enough to hold him out of this one. He's coming off a solid 15-point performance Sunday against the Suns.
