Williams will miss his second consecutive preseason game due to a minor right hamstring injury, though he is expected to return in full for Opening Night. Hornets' Grant Williams: Ruled out Sunday
Williams has been ruled out of Sunday's preseason opener against the Knicks due to a minor hamstring injury, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Williams tweaked his hamstring near the end of training camp and his status for a return to game action is unclear. The injury is minor, but the club could look to work the 25-year-old back to form slowly until Opening Night. Williams' next opportunity to feature will come Tuesday versus the Heat.

Hornets' Grant Williams: Goes through practice
Williams (ankle) was able to go through Tuesday's practice to open training camp.
Williams missed the final two games with an ankle injury to end his 2023-24 campaign. The 25-year-old fared well for Charlotte during the regular season, averaging 13.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.6 minutes per game. Charlotte is much healthier this time around, however, so it will be interesting to see what type of role Williams is able to carve out for himself.

Hornets' Grant Williams: Will miss season finale
Williams (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.
Williams will miss back-to-back games due to an ankle injury to end his 2023-24 campaign. After a slow start with the Mavericks, Williams was shipped to Charlotte at the deadline and was a consistent producer. He made 29 appearances (10 starts) for the Hornets and averaged 13.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.1 steals-plus-blocks in 30.6 minutes per game. Williams is still under contract for three more seasons.

Williams posted 16 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 115-114 win over the Hawks.
Williams drew a sixth consecutive start Wednesday and was nearly perfect from the floor in the narrow win. He's scored in double figures in five of his last six appearances, averaging 15.5 points, 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 33.5 minutes per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor.

Hornets' Grant Williams: Fills stat sheet Sunday
Williams finished Sunday's 121-118 loss to the Thunder with 19 points (7-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 38 minutes.
Williams seems poised to end the season as a starter for the rebuilding Hornets, as he's been part of the first unit in his last four appearances. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that he was part of the first unit even though Nick Richards was back in the rotation following a three-game absence. Williams is averaging 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game when deployed in a starting lineup this season.
