Magic's Anthony Black: Game-high seven assists off bench
Black finished Wednesday's 106-102 win over the 76ers with 10 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds and seven assists in 30 minutes.
It was Black's first time in double scoring figures since a Nov. 25 win over Charlotte, and his seven assists were his most since a Nov. 20 loss to the Clippers. The former first-rounder remains fairly raw offensively, so his production can be erratic, but he's clearly starting to pull away from Cole Anthony as head coach Jamahl Mosley's preferred backup point guard. Over his last 10 contests, Black is averaging 8.6 points, 3.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 23.0 minutes per game. He should continue to orchestrate Orlando's second unit on offense and play disruptive defense off the bench going forward.

Magic's Anthony Black: Starts in second half Saturday
Black ended Saturday's 111-100 win over the Pistons with 11 points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, five assists and two steals across 32 minutes.
Black started in the second half of Saturday's game after Jalen Suggs suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter. Black scored seven of his 11 points in the second half, and he could be inserted into the Magic's starting lineup against the Hornets on Monday if Suggs is unable to play.

Magic's Anthony Black: Logs team-high 17 points from bench
Black ended Wednesday's 104-93 loss to the Clippers with 17 points (5-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-9 FT), eight assists and one block in 29 minutes.
Black is getting increased court time and production due to a few factors. Cole Anthony is his only real competition for backup minutes, and the sluggish play from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has forced the team to provide more spark from the second unit. Black's upward trend could result in a major lineup change for the Magic if Caldwell-Pope is unable to recover from his production tailspin.

Magic's Anthony Black: Shows up with 20 points from bench
Black logged 20 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, nine assists and three steals across 33 minutes during Monday's 109-99 win over the Suns.
Black posted a season-high 20 points in the win, blowing way past his previous high of 12 points. Black is carving out a larger role in his sophomore season after averaging only 16.9 minutes per game during his rookie campaign. The 2023 first-round pick has the goods to be an eventual starter, but the Arkansas product will remain behind Jalen Suggs on the depth chart for the foreseeable future.

Black contributed six points (2-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and four steals over 25 minutes during Wednesday's 94-90 win over the Pacers.

The second-year guard's four steals were a season high, and he also tied his most assists in a game this year with six. Across his 13 appearances in 2024-25, Black is averaging 7.9 points, 4.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 24.6 minutes.

Black contributed 12 points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six assists and two steals over 27 minutes during Wednesday's 118-111 loss to Indiana.
Black led all Magic players in minutes played off the bench Wednesday, and he took advantage of that extra time while putting together his best performance of the young season. Black led all Orlando players with a pair of steals while handing out a team-high-tying assist total and concluding as one of two Magic bench players in double figures in scoring. Black set a new season high in scoring, and he has now reached the double-digit mark in four outings.

Magic's Anthony Black: Provides spark off bench
Black totaled 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 116-97 win over the Heat.
Black played the second-most minutes behind Paolo Banchero for Orlando in Wednesday's win as the Magic started to pull away from the Heat in the second half. Black had a quiet rookie season but should continue to operate as one of the team's primary bench options in the backcourt.

Magic's Anthony Black: Solid display off bench
Black finished with 11 points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds and an assist across 19 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's 107-97 preseason loss to the Spurs.
Black was one of two Orlando players who scored in double digits in this loss, with Jett Howard, who delivered a team-high 19 points, being the other. Black has shown glimpses of his quality in Orlando's first two preseason games. Still, and regardless of how good he looks in these games, he's ticketed to open the season as a depth option in the backcourt since Jalen Suggs and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will be the starting duo at the one and two, respectively.

Magic's Anthony Black: Team option picked up
Orlando exercised its third-year team option for the 2025-26 season on Black's contract Friday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Black will likely be returning to Orlando next season after the club extended him for his third year. The 20-year-old played a decent amount during his rookie season and averaged 4.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 16.9 minutes per game in 69 regular-season appearances (33 starts). However, Black may struggle to find similar playing time with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope joining the club this season.
