Top Tyler Herro News

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Wills team to victory

Herro accumulated 24 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds and nine assists in 33 minutes during Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game victory over the Bulls.

Herro was the star of the show in this one, and while he didn't have a great shooting night by any means, he had a more controlled approach after knocking down nine of 27 attempts from the field Tuesday against the 76ers. The Kentucky product did much more than score in the win, falling just one assist shy of a triple-double. The Heat will need more performances like this from Herro heading into the team's opening-round series against the Celtics.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Paces team in scoring in loss

Herro registered 25 points (9-27 FG, 4-14 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds and nine assists over 41 minutes during Wednesday's 105-104 Play-In Game loss to Philadelphia.

Although Herro needed 27 shots to score 25 shots, the uptick in usage rate happened largely due to Jimmy Butler suffering a knee injury in the first quarter, which limited him considerably, and Bam Adebayo had a rough matchup with Joel Embiid. Herro has reached the 20-point mark in four of his last six outings, and considering Butler will miss Friday's win-or-go-home matchup against the Bulls, Herro should be in line for another heavy usage rate against Chicago.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Stuffs stat sheet in win Sunday

Herro ended Sunday's 118-103 victory over the Raptors with 17 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 29 minutes.

Herro delivered a solid outing Sunday and finished just two dimes away from a double-double, playing a prominent role on offense as the Heat wrapped up their regular season with a comfortable win over the Raptors. Herro's workload in the Play-In matchup against the 76ers on Wednesday could be determined by the availability of Terry Rozier (neck), but he should find himself in the starting lineup either way. Herro has scored 17 or more points in his six appearances this month.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Available for Wednesday's game

Herro (foot) is available for Wednesday's game against Dallas, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Herro saw plenty of work in Tuesday's win over Atlanta, tallying 33 points, five rebounds and four assists in 48 minutes. He's appeared in only three matchups since returning from a 20-game absence due to a foot injury, and he suggested Tuesday that he could sit Wednesday. He'll suit up against Dallas, but it's possible the Heat choose to manage his workload Wednesday and in their final two regular-season games.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Enters starting lineup

Herro will enter the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Terry Rozier (neck) and Duncan Robinson (back) are out for Miami, so it's not a surprise to see Herro get the starting nod. He's likely to see a ton of usage in a fast-paced game against the Hawks on Tuesday night.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Uncertain against Dallas

Herro suggested Tuesday that the Heat may plan on sitting him out for Wednesday's game versus the Mavericks, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Herro logged 48 minutes and scored a team-high 33 points in Tuesday's double-overtime win over the Hawks. While the 23-year-old guard didn't suffer any injury, Miami could opt to sit him out for the second leg of their back-to-back Wednesday after recently returning from a 20-game absence due to a foot injury.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Leads from deep in 20-point game

Herro chipped in 21 points (6-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes during Sunday's 117-115 loss to the Pacers.

Herro led all Heat players in threes made to go along with a handful of rebounds, and he ended as one of four players with 20 or more points to provide a needed spark on the Miami second unit. Since his return from a 20-game absence due to right medial foot tendinitis, Herro has recorded at least 17 points and five rebounds in two straight outings off the bench.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Turns in gem off bench in return

Herro (foot) tallied 17 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six assists and five rebounds across 25 minutes in Friday's 119-104 win over the Rockets.

Aside from uncharacteristically poor free-throw shooting and a lack of defensive production, Herro's line was about as solid as fantasy managers could have hoped for, considering that he was on a minutes limit while coming off the bench in his return from a 20-game absence due to right medial foot tendinitis. The Heat likely have him earmarked for the starting role at shooting guard that went to Duncan Robinson on Friday, but it may take another game or two for Herro to recapture a spot in the starting unit while he regains full conditioning following the lengthy layoff.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Will play off bench Friday

Herro (foot) will play Friday against the Rockets, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Herro will make his return following a 20-game absence due to right foot medial tendinitis, but he's expected to operate off the bench and be limited against Houston, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Across 38 appearances this season, Herro has averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 0.8 steals in 33.6 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Officially questionable for Friday

Herro (foot) is questionable for Friday's game against the Rockets, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Herro has missed the last 20 games due to right foot medial tendinitis, but the Heat have been optimistic that he'll return to action Friday. The team will presumably monitor how he feels in the hours leading up to tipoff before determining his status, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him face a minute restriction if he's available. However, Herro's impending return should allow him to build up ahead of the playoffs.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Could return Friday

The Heat have optimism that Herro (foot) could return to action for Friday's game against the Rockets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Friday marks the second leg of a back-to-back set, so the Heat have yet to release an official injury report following Thursday's 109-105 loss to the 76ers. Herro has been sidelined since Feb. 23 due to a right foot medial tendinitis, but the guard is traveling with the Heat on their three-game road trip that begins Friday and could get the green light to suit up versus Houston. His potential return would be a big boost for Miami, and if available Friday, Herro looks like he'll have a full week to get in reps before the Heat begin their playoff run.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Remains out Friday

Herro (foot) won't play in Friday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.

Herro's absence streak will extend to 16 games Friday due to right foot tendinitis. However, the 23-year-old guard is ramping up toward a return, with Sunday's matchup with Washington being his next chance to take the floor.

  • Heat's Tyler Herro: Ramping up, still no timetable

Coach Erik Spoelstra said Thursday that Herro (foot) has progressed to the next stage of his rehab and is beginning to ramp up his conditioning, Wes Goldberg of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Herro was present and getting shots up during the media portion of Thursday's practice, but his status for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers remains unclear. The sharpshooter has missed 15 straight games due to right foot tendinitis, so even if he gets the green light soon, he will likely be limited for at least a few games to avoid a setback. However, it sounds like Herro is on track to be 100 percent by the time the Play-In Tournament begins, which begins April 16.
