The Bulls are trading Dosunmu (quadriceps) and Julian Phillips (wrist) to the Timberwolves on Thursday in exchange for Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller and four second-round picks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The Timberwolves have been trying to upgrade their guard position after trading Nickeil Alexander-Walker last offseason, and the Bulls had a surplus of guard talent after acquiring Anfernee Simons, Jaden Ivey and Collin Sexton over the past couple of days. Dosunmu could be the primary backcourt backup in Minnesota, operating behind Donte DiVincenzo, Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels. Dosunmu can be considered questionable to make his team debut Friday against the Pelicans.

Dosunmu took advantage of more looks in the second half after Jalen Smith was ruled out for the rest of the night due to a calf injury. Dosunmu posted his best scoring performance since Jan. 7 by shooting 50 percent from the field while going perfect from the charity stripe. The Illinois product was just as impressive on the boards by grabbing a season-high seven rebounds. Dosunmu could be in line for an uptick in minutes going forward depending on the severity of Smith's injury.
Dosunmu amassed 19 points (8-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds and four assists over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 113-110 loss to the Pacers.
Dosunmu continues to be a major standout for the Bulls, and recent reports have suggested that the franchise may be looking to extend him this offseason. With Coby White's name continuing to surface in the rumor mill, Dosunmu is a candidate for an increased role down the stretch.
Dosunmu had 18 points (7-10 FG, 4-5 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 29 minutes during Tuesday's 138-110 victory over the Clippers.
Dosunmu has been on quite the run for the Bulls. Over his last seven games, he's produced second-round value in nine-category formats in just 26.6 minutes per game. He's shooting 58.8 percent in that span with 17.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 2.7 three-pointers.

Dosunmu continues to play at a very high level for the Bulls. In fact, he's been a third-round value in nine-category formats over his last seven games. During that stretch, Dosunmu has posted averages of 16.9 points, 4.4 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.6 three-pointers on 55.4 percent shooting from the field.
Dosunmu ended with seven points (3-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists over 23 minutes during Tuesday's 119-113 loss to Houston.
Dosunmu cooled off in the loss, scoring just seven points after tallying double digits in the previous eight games. Despite this performance, Dosunmu remains a viable 12-team asset, at least until Josh Giddey returns from his hamstring injury. Look for Dosunmu to try and turn things around in what could be a favorable matchup against the Jazz on Wednesday.

Dosunmu was remarkably efficient in this game, missing just two shots from the floor and ending just two assists shy of a double-double. Dosunmu isn't expected to move into the starting lineup with Coby White and Tre Jones as the top options in the backcourt without Josh Giddey (hamstring), but that won't matter much as long as Dosunmu continues to look this comfortable off the bench. This was Dosunmu's eighth game with at least 20 points this season.
